Tim Holtz Distress Mini Ink Kits-Kit #2

I love the Tim HoLtz distress inks. The mini size are perfect for certain projects and the ink is awesome. You can use as watercolors, vintaged looks, aged, ink transfer, stenciling, photo tinting, wrinkle distressed look and so on... there are endless ideas that these inks are perfect for. I highly recommend this product.

A nice mixture of colors in a great ink. Small size make storage issues non-existent. So far I have six of these sets for a total of 24 stamp pads and they fit inside two of the tins that take up hardly any space! Great ink in a great size and with the reinkers a perfect buy for someone with limited space!

Are extremely convenient! Got them for a great package price. Wet pads with Lots of color! Will use often! Thanks so much.

These colors are awesome and look like the color of the stickers. The only issue I had with them were the fact that the lids don't close as securely as I hoped (I think they might dry out but we'll see). When placing the lid on a surface, place it upside down to avoid staining whatever surface you place it on since ink can be on the lid. The ink washes off pretty cleanly so your rubber stamps won't stain so that's a plus!

I love brie wih red raspberry preserves! I also love brie with blackberry preserves! The color 'seedless preserves' looks just like my blackberry preserves! LOL These pads are SO juicy! I tested them by touching them very gently with the pads of my fingers. The seedless preserves pad was so juicy that I had it all over my hand from just that touch of the finger! I ordered some memento dewdrops from Joanne's Fabrics and they were so dry that I couldn't use them until the reinkers were ordered and had arrived! THEY were SUPPOSED to be BRAND NEW but weren't. These WERE brand new! OBVIOUSLY brand new! I loved these. I love the smaller pads more than the full sized pads because I can still ink very large stamps. But I can also get into little tiny areas with these smaller stamps. I just order the reinkers so when they go dry quicker than a full size stamp I can just add more ink to them. No problem! I test them for ink before I use them on a project so they don't go dry while I'm using them. Simple to take care of. I always store them upside down! That keeps all that inky juiciness at the top of the felt pad ready for use. NEVER store them on their side or on their backs. You can get a small old CD holder to store all your pads in upside down! That was an awesome tip I picked up online and it works like a dream! LOVE LOVE LOVE these pads! They give me the collection of colors that I need to start and then I can fill my collection out around them! I've also ordered the other two kits of these colors and can't wait until they get here!

This is a great set if you are looking to try Tim Holtz ink pads without investing too much money at first. The regular sized ink pads are so pricey... Plus, I couldnt decide on which colors I wanted, so this is a great "sample" of the product.

What I expected

glad they came out with the minis. I'm on a tight budget so being able to get all the colors would have been rather expensive if I got the full size. Also, since I don't typically work on large projects I find this lays down just enough color when I want to use it as a water color without wasting ink. I don't really stamp with it because the image doesn't come out real crisp but when I do it is usually because I don't want a crisp image. All of the colors in the distress line are nice, but you do have to be careful with some of them when you water them down and blend as the primary colors may show through or the color gets greyish - i.e. one of the greens turns yellow easily and one of the browns gets very faded and greyish.
