Data Structures and Abstractions with Java (What's New in Computer Science)

The concepts are pretty well presented and the examples do a good job at reinforcing each topic. My only complaint is that there does seem to be a bit of information missing. I'm not sure if they expect you to remember everything you've ever learned in past Java classes, or if I never learned some of the concepts in depth from said Java classes. My professor supplies his own supplementary materials to go with each chapter due past complaints about the book's lack of explanation on key concepts. Still, It's a fine book with a lot of great information that is logically mapped out.

Book was listed as being in "acceptable" condition, and many of the pages seem fine. The issue is that the binding is severely compromised and the cover is being held on by a few threads, as can be seen in the picture.This book is a rental for a summer class and I could see the cover coming off even with very gentle use, and I would be stuck paying for it.

Book stores have taken some heat for re-sealing books that are in like-new condition and then passing them off as "new". Same thing seems to have happened here. Several pages were packed with a short, straight, black hair that I hope came from a pet cat or dog. Shallow scratches can be seen on the covers and the binding is slightly torn. I would call it "slightly read" condition.The book itself is dry and dull but has many examples of code.

My book just arrived and I wanted to document that the binding was all torn off when I received it. Im sure the information inside is unaffected but Im not being charged for this damage.

The book’s physical quality is fair. However the content is not very helpful or clear. The examples are terrible.

Easy to read and interesting, explains the concepts well, and is organized in a good manner

Thi sa bad kindle book it does not support any of kindle functions. I bought it for college I would not buy it.

This book was required for a data structures class, but it's at best mediocre at explaining concepts. You're better off using youtube or udemy. Please don't buy this book or even rent it.

This books is helpful to my learning even when this topic is quite hard to understand for me.
