A mineral oil based product that acts as a lubricant for rubbing out finishes with abrasive papers, pumice, rottenstone, and other rubbing compounds Saves time and eases the effort required to rub out a finish. The oil itself contains no abrasives. The desired sheen and smoothness of the resulting surface will be determined by type of finish on the piece, and the type and grit size of the abrasive used with the oil. Pint container.

good stuff in the woodshop
I use paraffin oil a lot in my wood shop. It works well to seal the end grain of wood to help prevent cracking as it initially drys. I also use it while sanding to suppress the dust and that works great, the less airborne dust the better my lungs like it. I also use it to coat steel tools that are getting stored for long periods and have had no rust issues on any of them in my damp shop.I keep a acid brush attached to the can with a strong magnet so I can just dip the brush in and get some on the item, a little goes a long way.

ROAD BIKE CHAIN LUBE
Purchased this along with Gulfwax Household Paraffin Wax to lubricate chain on my road bike. Works great. Much better than Paraffin Lamp Oil.

you have got to have it to use the Rottenstone.
completes the system.. the paraffin is a wax that fills imperfections while the oil lubricates and carries the abrasive around the item being polished.. I use the word polish because buffing is too rough for what this system does..
