This book is for beginners - ABSOLUTE beginners. If you have any programming knowledge at all this is not the book for you, but if you're looking to get started in Python programming with an easy to read book with exercises then it's definitely for you!

It's really helping me learn. Make sure you have time for you. Distractions will get you no where. After years of trying to learn this book is allowing me to write codes for the first time.

It seems to be written for experienced programmers,or ones with more knowledge than me. I was probably needing a remedial course before working with this book. Most programmers are self-taught, and with just a little experience, I believe this will improve my job opportunities.

I had just started reading this book and was starting to get to the good stuff when my boy took it from me to read. From what I read, I would have to say it was good and I would recommend it. I was looking for an introduction to python and it seemed like this book was going to give me a better understanding of what it was and what I could do with it.

Awesome book. I bought it to use with my college programming class and I finished with a 98.1 in the class. I would recommend it to anyone just starting out programming. The projects in the book are easy to understand and work through. After using the book to learn I had a sense of accomplishment.

12 dollars cheaper than local outlets and free shipping. Can't beat it! Have only progressed 1 chapter, but looks promising leafing through the chapters at a quick glance.

Tells you some REALLY basic knowledge of using python. That's it. You can learn more than that by downloading free content rich books in pdf format, easy to learn, step by step, from other websites.

I was looking for the basic steps and formulas. Not an understanding of the language. Totally counterproductive for me. If it was what I was looking for I would've left 5 stars

If you have zero prior programming experience, this is exactly the book you need. It completely removes the intimidation factor from learning Python. The concepts are broken down into bite-sized, easy-to-understand chapters without any overwhelming computer science jargon. The step-by-step examples are highly practical, and by the end of it, you feel genuinely confident writing your own basic scripts. It is a stress-free, excellent introduction to coding. Highly recommended for absolute beginners!

There are Python programming books written by authors who clearly know their stuff but fail to teach what they know. Then there are those who are sketchy on their knowledge but talk a good talk. This author gets it right on all scores. It begins with technicalities that need to be made familiar with, which can be a tad off putting. You can skip through that and comeback later. The advice on what to download to begin is clear and useful. The negatives are that the publishers could have a better job because the print is sometimes feint just where you need it to be clear. The other is that the Dummies website is useless when you want to download the pre-written code for the practice applications. This can be easily remedied by Googling it. It's also in the book which I just copied anyway. Otherwise I can't fault this book. I began knowing nothing but I'm now writing code and looking to do an OU Degree course at some point...

I just got the book, opened it and at first thought I'd been given a Hebrew edition. I squinted my eyes and realized it was indeed English. The publisher or author simply selected the worst, most illegible font. I have to look away after only 5 minutes of reading because it hurts my eyes. What were they thinking?

very good and basic book for dummies !! really !! , but if he / she is more interested in high level programming , they should look elsewhere . Else for foundation stones and fundamentals , this book is recommended for sure ..... not a bad product at all .... I learnt alot from this book ....
