Just a heads up for those looking at their first Modular PSU
Note to everyone thinking about buying a fully modular or partial modular PSU: When you buy a PSU from a brand, the power cords are NOT interchangeable between brands. So when you want to switch out PSUs, if they are not from the same brand, you'll also have to switch the cords. ESPECIALLY FOR CORSAIR!!! (i.e. you can't use EVGA or Cooler Master cords with a corsair PSU) If you try, most PSUs will auto shut off the moment they send a test jolt through the wires. Once you've wired your PC with one brand, you're stuck with that brand until you rewire. And for those that love cable management, you know how FUN ( /s) that can be.Now onto the review itself. This PSU comes with some thin, but stiff cords. If you've got tight corners you might have to work on it a little to get them into place. This PSU can be setup with the fan up or down, which is nice for those of us that like to exclude the PSU from the inner airflow. As for installation, I found no problems as the cables are pretty easy to figure out, and they are all black. They are also easy to repaint if you feel like it.I should note that unless you have a corsair coolant system for the PSU or a corsair cable hub, you'll be using a usb jumper head to get the corsair link to report the PSU's status.Software wise, Corsair Link worked on the first try to detect the new PSU, it's also linked through my H100i liquid coolant system instead of using another usb header. Gives nice real time efficiency and fan speeds.Sound: this thing is silent, even WITH the fan running, and that's only under load. For a guy who sleeps in the same room as his tower, that's REALLY important to me to NOT hear a loud fan running all the time. All in all: this thing booted up nicely once I got it all hooked up. Definitely got my recommendation when I put it under full load and the thing didn't even flinch.

1200 watts at your service
I bought the 1200 watts power supply, I dont think I need that much power, but like they say: never here is too much power, right? The depth of this power supply is larger than a standard ATX power supply. Very nice power supply, looks and feels solid. I am getting 87% efficiency, other reviewer report higher efficiency, need to investigate a little more on this.By the way, to get the Link working , and you should getting working , you get all kind of details about the power supply and your system, anyway I just ran a mini USB cable( I did not use the included cable) from inside the computer and connected to any outside USB 2.0 port, bingo! If you want to force the fan to spin, pick in group the GPU temp , play around , and you will force it to spin.UPDATE:I found why I am getting 87% efficiency. It's explained on the manual page 4. I will get 95% efficiency if the system load were 50%, since my system load is about 10% , the efficiency is 87%. Is that make sense?UPDATE 12/07/18Extremely happy with this power supply. My HP computer came with a cheap power supply that I never trusted. I dont feel the same with this power supply. I dont care to leave the computer running for 40+ hours while a 4TB is encrypted using bitlocker, etc. I keep saying all the time that what you pay is what you get, and I know this is a cliché but is the true.UPDATE 12/16/18Out of the blue, the Link software stopped reporting power supply status like load, temperature, etc., also when everything is good the power supply LED blinks between orange and green, in this case, it became steady orange.Order a replacement, shipped and delivered fast and quick, just as Amazon knows how to it.

Powering 6 GTX1070's with no issues!
I have always been a fan of the HX series of PSU's by Corsair. This is my 3rd or 4th HX model for various computers. I am currently using the 1200i to power my 6 EVGA GTX1070's (overclocked) and have had zero issues. It runs cool and super quiet. I do not currently know the wattage of my build (just ordered a kill-a-watt meter) but it's certainly not struggling to keep up with it.This is the first time I've ever used a PSU that I've maxed out all the possible sockets with cables to power a bunch of cards and if I ever decide to build a second mining rig, I would get this again.Well done Corsair!
