Small size - good coffee
Have to say I agree with the cleaning chore but none the less an impressive bit of kitchen ware and it only occupies about the same space a a kettle so you could enter a bit of one upmanship and put one on your desk at work! Does come apart easily to facilitate no fuss cleaning, best done under the tap in the sink I found. An impressive innovative introduction to Bean-to-Cup

Fantastic value machine
Fantastic piece of kit. I was a bit sceptical seeing as how cheap it was compared to others on the market but it really is a cracking machine. So easy to use, take apart and clean. It does say it makes 4 cups but that would very much be 4 small cups, if you drink a normal sized mug you will get a max of two mugs but thats perfect for me. All in all i couldn't recommend this machine enough.

Poor grinding - and a pain to clean.
I bought this to help reduce my Nespresso compatible capsule waste - but I was soon looking for alternatives! The first thing a bean to cup coffee machine has to do is grind the coffee - this Lakeland machine failed at this first hurdle! I found an unacceptably high proportion of my Lavazza Crema e Aroma coffee beans had only been cut in two pieces! So, I purchased a coffee grinder, which improved the coffee quality no end. However, I found cleaning the machine was a bit of a bind, which would have been bearable if the grinder had been more efficient - but as I was pre-grinding the beans the machine had lost it's usefulness. So now I bought a cafetiere! Grinder and cafetiere together cost less than half the price of the Lakeland machine - Lot easier to use and much better coffee. At the end I was using the Lakeland machine about once a week. Now I use the grinder and cafetiere every day - - no brainer.

Fresh tasting good cofee maker apart from cleaning
I've bought this because I love the taste of freshly grinded coffee beans. This is my first cofee machine. Done some research and read tons of reviews before shortlisting this one. Unfortunately, there are not much choices for this price range. I didn't wanted to spend hundreds of pounds for something I wasn't sure I'm gonna use regularly or stick to instant coffee due to quick turnaround time. The machine is good and it makes nice, fresh tasting coffee. However, as most of the other reviewers already told, it's not that easy to clean. I don't know if this is the case with all other coffee machines around this price range. Maybe this will not be a problem if you drink couple of coffees all day and clean it once a day, but I only drink one or two at most per day, so it's not a good design for me. If it was only one chamber with a filter and wet coffee, then it would've been much easier to clean. But for the price, I would still rate this 4 stars. Hope this is helpful :)

Perfect tasting coffee without pods!
Easy to use with ground or coffee beans. Compact rounded at the back so tucks neatly into a corner. Found a bit fiddly to clean at first but now just rinse the filter and basket in a sieve over the sink 2 mins of a job. Keeps jug warm, tastes as good as high end coffee machines, looks good all round excellent product.

Extremely difficult to clean
Makes reasonable coffee but getting rid of the used grainsโน๏ธ I get a sieve and line it with a sheet of kitchen roll and place over a jug in the sink. Remove grind lid, place to one side. Lift out the whole of grind basket and fill grinder with water. Carefully tip dirty water with used grains into sieve/jug. Repeat at least one more time. At the end of the day empty the grains from the sieve into waste. Extremely disappointed that the supposed filter is NOT for disposal of used grains because it has no bottom to it (because of grinder blades). Itโs only purpose is to stop grains getting into jug, I found that sooo misleading.

Small footprint ideal for occasional use
I like the small footprint and it makes a good cup of coffee, assembly/disassembly is easy and water filling requires a steady hand but is easy to do. Plus a better price on Amazon than directly from Lakeland themselves. I am a tea drinker who likes the odd cup of coffee, if I were a serious coffee drinker I might go for something with a larger jug.
