yes it is the latest version, Now standard weight so transition from swing training to regular club is much better. Because the weight is the same the timing is the same, and now USGA legal, the old version was heavier and not USGA legal so much improved now, thanks

As this is a training aid if buying the 7 iron, would I absolutely need to purchase the wedge/driver to get the 'feeling' the 7 iron would teach me?

The 7 iron is the best seller, because it does help you feel what you are looking for in long and short game just by swinging it various lengths and speeds..Most customers purchase the driver or wedge after they have used the 7 iron, because they are very impressed with the results and feel the other clubs will be a great addition to training their golf swing long term. Also unlike others on the market, my swing trainers are standard weight just like your regular clubs so you can transfer the feeling across to your regular clubs. Just make sure you watch all the training videos and the 3D videos I produced, so you can get a clear understanding of the golf swing mechanics :-) stuart

is this principally similar to the orange whip?

Yes, or a sklz gold flex, but you can hit balls with it as it is a standard 7 iron weight with a midsize grip, the only difference is the flexible shaft so its great for training and hitting balls at the same time. You get instant feedback from the ball flight and the feeling through the shaft.
