Clairefontaine Wire Book 8.25X11 Rule/Margin

I bought this notebook for use at school with a fountain pen (my Parker Sonnet) and have since reordered. I could tell that my teachers were getting sick of the papers I turned in that were barely legible due to bleed-through from the other side. The great thing about the Clairefontaine paper is that the ink doesn't bleed or feather. The paper is really smooth (visually and tactily); my pen glides across the paper almost effortlessly, and the paper has a shine to it. The paper is really truly white. Most cheap American paper has a dull yellow hue, but the Clairefontaine paper is very bright. Due to the fact that all of the ink sits on top of the paper, as apposed to bleeding into it like the cheap stuff, there is a longer than usual dry time. It's no fault of the design, just a necessary evil. I wouldn't recommend it to left-handed writers. Even as a right-hand, I had to adjust my writing style because the previous line would streak while I wrote. Many reviewers complain about the cover, but I like it. It is thick and in no way feels cheep. The spiral is made of 2 wires, which is a cool touch. What must be acknowledged is that Rhodia uses Clairefontaine paper, but is styled more professionally. If you're looking for a business notebook, then this may not be for you. Additionally, if you aren't a fountain pen user, there is little reason to pay the premium price for this notebook. Of course, this is an expensive notebook. It is a luxury item and must be viewed as such. The way that I treat the paper is different than the generic stuff; I never use it for scratch, and I have an internal struggle every time somebody asks if they can have a sheet. The price is higher than what I have seen in Paris, but there is a value associated with importation that must be taken into account.

This is clairefontaine, so it's one notebook at a fair market price. Image is some of the color range. If you don't understand why a single notebook should cost $15 US you don't need it. Briefly though what you're looking at is paper that feels lovely to write on with a metal nib and stands up to liquid inks such as from fountain pens or brush pens without bleed through or feather. I got a black notebook and couldn't be happier with that, even though it isn't in the picture as an option. I would have waited for the age bag spirals but I needed a fresh notebook for a trip and the seller has great delivery times for which I'm grateful. While margined paper isn't my favorite way of getting a notebook the three hole binder set up might be exactly what some people need.

I learned to love Clairfontaine notebooks while studying in France. This spiral has twice the amount of paper of a standard US spiral. The paper feels a bit heavier too. I cannot wait to use it this fall in my doctoral program. Perfect for students who want to use one spiral for more.than one course!

Great typical clairefontaine quality - easily my favorite paper finish, it's got just enough feedback to not make more slippery fountain pen nibs skip or hard start - no bleed or feathering. I am kind of bummed this wasn't french ruled, standard college ruled with a wide margin. Pages are perforated and 3-ring punched. overall quality is extremely high with very tough, well made wire loops. (enough to justify the price if you use fountain pens - if you use ballpoints or rollerballs, I'd say go for something cheaper) I do really wish it was french ruled. Clairefontaine paper is kind of a pain to find for reasonable un-inflated prices. CF's french ruled paper is just awesome (helps really practice handwriting consistency)

If I have any pen that I think writes terribly, the true test of if it's bad is the paper in this notebook. It is easily the softest, smoothest paper I've ever used. Anything and everything just glides right over it. It has saved my scratchiest fountain pens and made them feel like I'm writing on a cloud. It's maybe even smooth to a fault; anyone who likes a bit of texture will despise this paper. The wire spiral is sturdy and durable, easily surviving months of being used and abused in school. Same for the cover, it's still soft but decently durable. Though not a hardcover notebook, I think it's still plenty durable to survive basically anything it's needed for. All in all, the paper on the inside is amazing, and it's been put inside a very nice and durable notebook. I will definitely be buying more of these when my current one is full.

These notebooks are great for Journaling with fountain pens of all shapes and sizes. More over they're great for sketching with pencil and markers. They're very versatile and they perform perfectly.

Excellent service fast shipping of an excellent product, would buy again. If you don't know this paper you are missing out on something very special. It feels like a high cotton percentage paper which is then made glass smooth, via some polishing process. I use it because it works especially well with fountain pens. This paper doesn't bleed through under normal use, and won't feather or smear easily. It is considerably more money than ordinary notebook paper ...but this is not ordinary paper by any means. Hope this helps those unfamiliar with it.

It's very beautiful paper. It's thick, and smooth,and has a very nice white surface. I thought the black cover on the notebook they sent me looked blah, I wish I could've selected color, as there's no black in the picture of the item. The black cover looked cheap for the quality, but I love the paper, I am now a fan. It is smooth for my Metropolitan fountain pen, and I love that it's perforated for easy tearing. it's beautifully heavy weight for nice writing I gave it 4 stars cause the price and the color. I should'nt be picky but I will be using this notebook in a public place, and I really wanted more colors. Happy I didn't buy any others on Amazon. I found the notebook for a third of the price, same notebook, on a certain pen shop online.

This is the smoothest paper I have ever used and it writes beautifully with a fountain pen. Even with heavy writing on one side there is almost no ghosting or bleed-through on the other side. It takes a moment longer for really wet fountain pen ink to dry be patient before you close your book. I will definitely buy this again once I fill the one I have.

As much as I like Clairefontaine notebooks, I will not buy again. The picture is deceiving, based on it I was not aware that it is only one piece at this price. You will get a random colour of the cover, no option to choose....

Tres déçu d'avoir payé si cher juste pour un. pas pour 4 comme sur l'image de l'article. En plus, sur l'image les cahiers sont de couleurs vives et belle moi, j'ai reçu un noir et gris. vraiment déçu. Je le garde car j'en ai besoin pour écrire avec mes plumes. Toutefois, je vais regarder pour une alternative moins coûteuse pour après lui.

The notebook is lovely, as expected, but you only receive ONE, not four as the product image would suggest. For the price, I was very disappointed.

Yikes! By looking at the image , I thought I was getting more than one journal . upon reading the text again I realize that there was only one . The quality of the journal is lovely the price quite prohibitive for one.
