Ryobi RY40201A 40v String Trimmer/ Edger (Bare Tool) Battery and Charger NOT included)

I already have the 40V Ryobi lawn mower and it works great. I was tired of handling the long extension cords on my old weed wacker so thought I'd try the Ryobi 40V weed wacker. This thing is lightweight, very easy to use and it uses the same battery as the lawn mower. Can't believe how fast I can do my edging now and without the hassle of those extension cords!

The Ryobi grass edger / trimmer works good. The edger is not as stable as a dedicated edger, but works well. You just have to learn how to keep the edger steady and in-line for a good edge. The string feeder works well.

I accidentally put it in edging position with the swivel head, and it wouldn’t go back into trimming position m, so in my frustration of needing it to work, and from this being my second chance Ryobi trimmer and investment in batteries I slammed it into a metal pole. I feel better.

The trimmer works fine and has several nice features. Only problem is that it only accepts the pole saw attachment, so all the great 40volt attachments do not marry up with the hand unit. It is light weight and the line used is pretty small diameter but I only use it around the walls, planters, etc.

Auto line by simply stopping and starting works great. This battery powered edger replaces my gas one. Does the same job with less noise and no gas. Line that came with it is a little thin and wears out quickly. I will replenish that with thicker line. 40 volt battery does the entire property.

The string, and I have tried many different kinds, is always getting stuck.

I love this "wiper sniper" so much that when a friend carelessly busted my first one, I immediately bought a new one. Since using this Ryobi, I tell my friends and family that I am addicted to it (I am!)... it is so much fun for me to use (120 lb female). We have 2 different electric ones at our house (I cannot recall the brands) and while they work great, they can be a pain in the butt. The freedom this Ryobi offers is awesome. Three years ago, I said my new best friend was my new Quartz infra-red heater, the following year it was my back massager .. and NOW... you guessed it... MY RYOBI 40V wiper sniper!My order was sent well packed, and quickly!
