Psychic Vampires: Protection from Energy Predators & Parasites

I just started reading this book and I have found it very helpful regarding the exchange of energies. I have always been a sensitive and am constantly aware of other peoples energy. I can tell what has happened in a room even after the person or people have left. I find this book very helpful, as it goes into detail on the origins of Psychic Vampirism and the conditions in which it takes place. Anyone who can sense or feel energy would really enjoy this book. It also has some good methods and ideas on how to be prepared for and how to control those energies.

This is a must have book! I've bought this book 4 times now. I have loaned it out to people and never got it back. It helps you should your self. Informs you in what is going on. I had a website and I put this book on my site when I had it.

Psychic Vampires is a book I bought several years ago, started reading, and put down in disgust after about 80 pages. It annoyed me to no end, yet, I decided to give it a second try with the expectation of once again, hating the book and possibly selling it back to Amazon. To my amazement, I had a much different reaction this time. During my first attempt, I recall being annoyed at the editing of this book, the numerous misspellings and grammatical errors. An editor is paid money to check a book for these things. This time around, I still discovered the misspellings, but discovered the message as well. For those who are unfamiliar with this topic, psychic vampires have nothing to do with Bela Lugosi, Twilight, biting people in the neck, stakes through the heart etc. This is a topic about people who drain away your energy. They are real, and tend to be family members and co-workers. There were things that I still found annoying about the book. The author's overuse of the words like synergy and empowerment. When I see "synergy", I recall that word as a 1980's corporate buzzword from my days working in a large corporation. That word nauseates me, but then again, that may be my issue and negative associations of that corporation and era. So that I don't write another overly long review, this book has a good format. The author summarizes every chapter at the end of the chapter. He gives numerous steps which include meditation and visualization exercises. They strike me for the most part as being worthwhile. Joe Slate writes about every variety of Psychic Vampire (One-on-One, Group Vampirism (including Organizational Vampires perhaps like a big corporation), Global Psychic Vampirism etc. On page 115, while discussing this behavior in the family he writes "Psychic vampires in the family situation are almost always discontent and resentful. They tend to be critical of other family members, and they often complain of being misunderstood. They are emotionally cold and distant. Many of them experience smoldering hostility and alienation from the family. They feel underappreciated and insecure, and they tend to blame others-including other family members-for their problems and failures." On Page 126, in discussing the Global variety he writes "While we exist only in the present, any unresolved legacy of our past demands our attention and resolution....Past and present global atrocities and abuses of human rights weave an ominous vampire cape that continues to eclipse the globe. Further down the same page "Early in our nation's history, Thomas Payne recognized the vampire nature of war. "He who is the author of a war lets loose the whole contagion of hell and opens a vein that bleeds a nation to death....To quote Ben Franklin, "There never was a good war or a bad peace." But there have been some bad peace treaties that set up the next war! Chapter Ten, the Conclusion is one of my favorites in the book. On Page 223, the author writes "Abuse of human rights, "ethnic-cleansing," narcotics trafficking, and organized crime have clear fingerprints of psychic vampirism on an alarming scale. " On the next page the author gives suggestions which include "Accept yourself. Recognize your abilities as well as your limitations. Find ways of using your strengths to compensate for your weaknesses." On the last page of the book (Page 225) - the author quotes St. Augustine and advises "Renounce self-contempt, self-destruction, self-hate, and self-underestimation. They are morbid cloak-and-dagger vampires that can strangle and suffocate.....Become involved in helping others. Every act of kindness, compassion, and generosity is empowering, not only to others, but to yourself as well. Joe Slate is right you know, and I will recommend this book in spite of the misspellings.

This book arrived in great shape. The contents are very informative.

I bought the hardcopy of the book. While I appreciate Joe's attempt to point out vampirism and how essential it is to ensure that you free yourself from them and heal I dropped the book and haven't picked it up when he brought up that people suffering from ptsd are vamps, and then went on and on and on... This is not my experience and I think it's atrocious to put another myth out there about ptsd sufferers when they are already misunderstood ostracized outcasts societally as it stands. This isn't to say the whole book is rubbish, just that I feel it's very misguided in certain aspects and isn't near the pinnacle of understanding the phenomenon. I'd say, if you're interested in a firmer grasp of things, yet don't necessarily need all the scientific claims Winged Wolf's book on psychic vampire's is much better and has firmer advice and observations of the phenomenon without outing a whole group of people with mental illness as friggin monsters.

I bought this book for me. I am a case manager in touch with a lot of people every day and lately I was feeling that my energy was been dragged and arrived home so tired every night. Well, the first reading it was my husband, he also interacts with a lot of people in his job, so he pretty much appropriated from the book. He has been talking about it and practicing the recommendations. The person who wrote the book really knew what he was writing about. Highly recommended! Yes I would give this as a present to my family members and best friends.

This book contains vital information for anyone under psychic attack from someone draining their energy. Contains useful defense techniques and how to spot/sense these energy predators. Very helpful.

I really like this book because it teachers you how to be more aware and to recognize people who are around you.

This book is interesting and helpful to to learn about psychic vampirism, (but it is associated with other forms of vampirism (sanguinarian, emotional vampirism, occult/spiritual Vampirism) or other spiritual, mental/emotional/physical problems could also be the cause for some of the symptoms mentioned in the book. This is a scientific book about the study of Psychic Vampires/Psychic Vampirism and possible causes of Psychic Vampirism & how people can learn to cope with it. It explains the different types of Psychic Vampires that exist, their intentions, some are ethical and feed on/siphon energy from a person that gave their consent for consensual energy exchange. Others are NOT a ethical Psychic Vampire and they feed on/siphon energy from people on purpose, without their consent or knowledge. This can include energy being drained via astral projection, they can attach themselves to your aura and drain your energy. Some people may have health problems that affect their energy, physical, mental/emotional wellbeing so if they are also psychic/an empath or sensitive emotionally/spiritually it will make them a target for spirits/entities, narcissists/psychopaths/sociopaths/cults or negative power vibrational energy people involved in the occult that want to deceive you so be careful. Heal your emotional wounds, or any damage to your aura/soul, release any self destructive habits in your life or anyone/anything that is a bad influence or harmful to you in any way. It's sad that not everyone is aware of the effect that vampiric can have on you in multiple ways, the long-term damage it can cause, all the problems it can create if people choose not to believe that is it even possible or real, or they ignore the problem until it gets worse. Some people could have issues related to a past life, due to being psychic or a empath, spiritually sensitive to different vibrational energy of spirits, entities, other types of beings like angels/demons, elementals, servitors (thought thoughts) Sleep paralysis caused by spirit's, demons and other types of beings such spectral vampires, vampiric spirits, witch's, occultist's, black magicians using astral projection, black magic or the aid of a being to cause harm to others, during sleep, taking their energy. (I don't believe that everyone involved in the occult is evil, or only involved in the occult to harm other people but a small minority of people are and they have sinister and malicious intentions and they don't care about the consequences or karmic cost of what they are doing unfortunately) Emotional vampirism is never mentioned despite the fact that it has a similar effect to psychic vampirism but instead you're drained of your emotion energy on purpose by a emotional vampire. They project their pessimistic attitude and opinion onto others, to make other people feel sorry for them, so they will feel obliged to care or want to help them, but they only way they can get better is if they change themselves. Things would improve if they improve themselves mentally, physically, spiritually, psychically and to stop absorbing negativity into their aura which is damaging their aura, health, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. The author is a bit repetitive sometimes in the book, so sometimes it seems like they are saying the same thing over and over and it's phrased verbatim. Sometimes it's annoying, while reading the book. I did find the book, to be informative, but if occult related vampirism, astral projection or obvious/subtle signs of vampiric was mentioned in depth then that would have been helpful. I think everyone should read this book.
