Great Cart - Cannot Beat The Price
I purchased the AT-OC9XSL. I was looking for a replacement MC cart that wouldn't break the bank to pair with my Rega P9. Since these are so new there are very few customer reviews out there, but I decided to take a chance on it as I've always had pretty good luck with AT carts. I have about 20 hours in on the cart so far and I must say it is exceptional! At this price point, it sounds more like a cart costing several times the price ($729 at time of purchase). I highly recommend this. Mine is paired with a Sutherland Insight Phono Stage and Marantz Receiver. You can't go wrong with this cart!

Audio-Technica AT-OC9XEN
Always a fan of Audio Technica Phono cartridge.I decided to go with the middle of the OC9 lineup.I own now and have in the past used Nude Elliptical and prefer the sound.Great value and huge bang for the buck at $349.I have a Hana Elliptical that cost $475 and I prefer this XEN over the Hana.Im using a Micro Seiki MA-505S tonearm with excellent results.Im looking foward to purchasing the AT-OC9XSL for my other turntable sometime in the future.

Huge step up from moving magnet for me
This is a low output cartridge so you need a high quality moving coil phono preamp. Or if you want to pay for a step up transformer then into a normal output phono preamp. I changed from a nice Grado Gold. Running a Music Hall MMF 7 turntable (project table rebadged). Working with the entry level IFI ZEN phono preamp, the sound is pretty dern stunning. Much higher musical "involvement" than with the Grado. Vocals are more "present". Bass is good but not outstanding. Highs are perfect, extended but no extra sibiliance. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. I probably will never go back to moving magnet...

This is a fabulous cartridge for the price and it tracks records so well! I have it playing in the new Technics SL-1200GR a killer combination!

Worth every dollar
I upgraded from an Ortofon Concorde Mix MKII DJ style cartridge, which was spherical, and moving magnet, and my god, the upgrade was like night and day. This kicks CDs ass. Give yourself an MC preamp or a step up transformer (I used the former) and you will be wondering what the hell happened to all the noise. Seriously, this makes you not even think that vinyl is inferior. I've been producing tape recordings with Maxell XLII's on a JVC TD-V541 cassette deck and a Technics turntable, along with a Cambridge Audio Alva Duo Phono preamp and the results are fantastic! Get yourself one of these cartridges, and never look back. Thank me later.

What an amazing cartridge!!
I started collecting vinyl about 7 years ago and have owned multiple turntables and multiple cartridges. This one has completely floored me! I have been looking for a specific sound when listening to my records and I have finally found it.This cartridge is the stereo separation king! There may be higher-end carts that do it better but for the money, this is the best I have ever heard. You add that on top of the soundstage and openness this cart offers and you have a real winner. The previous cartridges I have owned are AT-VM95e, AT95EX, VM540ML, Ortofon 2M Red. Just to give you an idea of my experience (which is limited)This is my first MC cartridge and I am pretty confident in saying I can never go back to MM. There was nothing wrong with any of the cartridges I owned, the VM540ML was an absolute beast and I strongly believe for the money it is the best cartridge out there. This is just on another level. I have stereo separation on my speakers I have only experienced while wearing headphones. If you are on the fence because this is an expensive cartridge trust me you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic
This is a review of the OC9XML and it is just an AMAZING cartridge. The level of refinement matches that of my Clearaudio Essence, which costs $1500. In some ways the AT is better. It has better air, and decay around instruments, making them sound more real. The highs are extremely refined and it picks up information that other cartridges just miss. It is not bright like some other AT cartridges, particularly MMs. I also owned the AT-33EV and this is by far a superior cartridge. It is super quiet in the groove. Will benefit from a high quality SUT/Head amp, or a high quality all inclusive phono stage, and a high quality turntable.

Amazing
I like what i hear 😊 definitely worth the money. But i would buy it from a local dealer just to check if the cantilever is perpendicular and if there is not too much glue holding the diamond. Because mine is almost all covered except for the very very tip. So yea, go to the dealer and pick the best looking the way you buy fruits and vegetables.

A low power mc cartridge but a fine one.
A very good cartridge, i have had the older oc5 some time ago which i liked. I have no trouble fitting it or setting it up. I am happy with this fine cartridge.

Thin sounding cart
This cart (0c9xeb) was shrill and lacked low end and made my system sound thin with no bass or mid-bass weight. Instrument separation was terrible. Gave instant listening fatigue. Update: Amazon site not the best for info. Found out the cart I chose “eb” has different compliance and was a poor match for my tone arm (low mass). Higher compliance on the “ml”. Unfortunate that the reviews for this entire line of carts show up under every model.Update:Oc9xml is much better. Great clarity and dynamics, instrument separation, strong tight bass and most of all tracks incredibly. No inner grove distortion or sibilance whatsoever.

Defective Out Of The Box: Flimsy Cantilever Cannot Support the Tracking on an LP
Delivered in reasonable time and after my meticulous installation, it does not work at all. It bottoms out such that the lower part of the cartridge contacts the record (LP) surface. The cantilever is so flimsy it cannot withstand 2 grams of tracking force. I doubt it can support any tracking force. What a waste of waiting and installation time.

A very resolving MC phono cartridge.
Other cartridges tried with same setup. Shure V15 Type V VxMR with OEM stylus. Music lost life but was too warm and the high frequencies were simply not very resolved. 4/10Denon DL103. Some life returned. Good Midrange and midbass. High frequencies were there but you had to try hard to hear it. No serious bottom end 6/10Ortofon MC10 Mk II. the cartridge I had before I replaced it with the Shure Type V. Reminded me why. Unrefined sound, resonances from the cartridge. Much more dynamic than the Shure and Denon but lacking top end resolution like the Denon and lacking bottom end. Sometimes too brash. Now for the Audio Technica AT-OC9XML . Good bottom end, great high end. Refined sound with good resolution. Very dynamic. If your system is already bright, beware it could push it over the edge but that will depend on the phonostage and how much it can reveal. All my old records from my past sound new again. All the other cartridges allowed the TOPPING D90SE to be clearly superior. With this cartridge sometimes vinyl will outshine digital - you now hear why the vinyl vs. digital debate continues and that is using technically superior electronics on the digital side. You hear the recording and how it was made. 9/10Equipment used: Benchmark AHB2, Benchmark LA4, Topping D90SE, Highly modified phono stages consisting of Muffsy MC head Amp, Bugle 2 with 8 Jung Super Regulators. Linn LP-12, Linn Ittok LVII. Polk LSIM707 with Parts Express RSS390HF sealed sub with MiniDSP and Fully regulated power supply on Leach Low TIM3 for subs for power.
