Starburst Crack, Not Anymore!
I had the misfortune of a rock hitting the windshield of my car two days ago. I ordered the RainX Fix a Windshield and received it within two days and I did the repair today. I read the instructions several times before attempting the repair. The repair involved loading a resin into a resin chamber attached with a pressure driver. The loader is is attached to a suction cup device that attaches to the windshield placed over the point of impact. My windshield damage was of the starburst type, not large but noticeable. The resin was injected, the device removed once the cracks vanished. A curing strip of plastic was placed over the impact which I could barely see anymore. I removed the strip after a few minutes and removed only a slight residue. I am very pleased with this product. The instructions were excellent and there is enough of the product leftover to repair any future starburst cracks.

Repairing Windshields in Hot Weather Locations
I was living in southern Texas when I noticed a small bullโs eye on my windshield. The temperature here is usually around 95 ยฐF and the instructions that come with all windshield repair kits don't mention hot-weather conditions.. So I spent a lot of time asking on the Amazon forums about this, People answered, but overall it was ambiguous. I also called a few of the companies, but they were also not much help.Eventually, I found a handmade video on YouTube made by someone down South. He confirmed to me that this product worked for him.I applied it a total of three times to also fill in the center of the actual impact. One month later, so far so good. Here are my tips, if it helps: 1. use a Sharpie pen on the inside of the windshield to mark the cracks and impact. 2. Then tape a clean sheet of white paper over the Sharpie marks (on the inside).Together, both of these steps will greatly improve visibility from the outside of the windshield.

Great DIY solution for rock chips
I had a rock chip the size of a thumb nail in the middle of my windshield that was totally distracting. Most auto glass repair shops around LA quoted me at least $80 to fix it and really pushed replacing the windshield entirely.Decided to try the RainX on my own and am quite pleased with the results. What was a total distraction is hardly visible now. It's not a perfect fix, and you shouldn't expect one, because you can still make out where the chip was, but a pretty great result for the price and about 10 minutes of your time.

I have wasted $1000's of dollars on windshield replacements for nothing!
I am so happy and ticked off at the same time. I used the product per the instructions and watched a couple of utube videos and when I was done scraping off the residue I couldn't find the star burst. It was completely gone. Originally it was a little smaller than a quarter so it was pretty large with three spider legs coming off the impact ding. Now all I can find (and I had to get windex to wash every speck of dirt off) is a pin size speck of dust that won't come off so I have to assume that is the where the crack was. I am so irritated that every time I got a crack and was too lazy to get it fixed it would spread and I would have to buy a new windshield. Four total in my Lexus before I traded it in for this new car. The only reason I even tried this stuff is because this car was two days old and I wasn't going in to the city until Saturday and didn't want to have it totally crack before I could get it fixed. I figured this would be a temp fix until I got to a professional but this stuff was AMAZING! Like magic!!!!!!!! I am a 52 year old woman who uses utube and google when attempting any home repair so I am about as far from experienced as you can get. I'm ordering a spare to keep handy for the next flying object that hits my window.

A little tricky but it works
There are a lot of windshield crack repair kits, and most are rated poorly. This is somewhat complicated but not bad at all, if you have a "bulls eye" or "star" type crack. if you have just a simple line crack, it's very simple, wherein you put drops of the resin into the crack and cover with a plastic sheet. The bullseye and star types use a suction cup apparatus, a tube that seals to the windshield, which is threaded inside, and a pushrod to thread into this sealing piece to push the resin into the crack. Be careful not to push too hard when you are seating the sealing piece to the windshield, as too much pressure can extend your crack, which i found out the hard way. I didn't have it seated/sealed, and when i saw from the side i needed to push it further, i screwed it too far and the crack extended about 1/4 inch. I backed it off and it stayed as is. I used the product as advertised, but put too much resin into the chamber, and when i pulled the whole piece off the windshield the extra resin dripped down and around. I wiped this off in a hurry but there was still extra around the crack. Which, honestly, i'm fine with if it's going to add extra strength. Back to the filling: the resin does fill the cracks, and I tried heating from inside the car with a hairdryer just to help it go in further to be thorough. After screwing it down and waiting some, I screwed it about another 1/2 turn to push it in further. Afterward, it had filled the star-type crack, and the new side crack extending off, completely and they were 95% invisible, safe for some of the extra surface resin that was my mistake but that's clear also. So, it worked, it's a little tricky but with this advice you should be in pretty good shape. out of all the options out there it seems like this is one of the best so if you're going to do this yourself then this is a good bet.

Fix it yourself or pay someone to replace your entire windshield.
Fixed a star crack on my wife's Highlander. Worked just as advertised. Unlike some other kits, I'll be able to use this several more times. Comes with a lot of resin. Instructions say to use between two to six drops depending on size of the area to be repaired. I initially used four drops and when the resin stopped flowing into the crack I opened the plunger to let the air escape and added two more drops and replaced the plunger. That did the trick and I parked out in full sunlight for fifteen minutes for the resin to cure. Removed the finishing strip and scraped off the excess resin. Repair was crystal clear and the wife was happy. I'm glad I used this kit to stop the crack from spreading and costing me a couple of hundred bucks to replace the windshield.

Great for a small bulls-eye
I bought this thinking that I would give it a try... I honestly didn't expect it to work. However, following the directions to a T, it definitely did work and I couldn't be...

Great potential if used correctly
Lots of potential, specially for a $10 repair. If you're expecting a 100% result, replace your windshield and you'll have 100% results.

Worked very well on my windshield
It is considered for 1 time use, I used it for three different dents on my windshield and still have some left over. I am very satisfied with the job it did.
