Sound Storm Laboratories ML41B Bluetooth Car Stereo, No DVD, USB, Aux-in

Just came in today; I have to admit I'm impressed with it so, far it not the loudest head unit I've had over the years but I didn't want something that was loud since I'm in a 1990 Ford Ranger single cab pickup that I've been slowly getting to proper order just to get back and forth to work in, I do like the Bluetooth in it not as good as some but for the money it decent enough, and at lease if I have a call from my Doctors office to set up appointment real quick without pulling over to the side of the road to answer, haven't tried the SD card slot out yet though not sure if I will use the feature or not since I'm not really in to playing with MP3 Folders over the years on other Head Units, but as of now I'm giving it a thumbs up for a simple light weight audio system. Update: I knocking off a two stars unless I figure out, why I can't get music streaming to work, I can get my bt to work with Hand Free Calling, though all of the sudden, Music Streaming quit working no matter what I do, disconnect est. so not sure why it quit all of the sudden it do this till I last called my mom to let her know I was on my way home from coming home late from work, so she didn't worry since I have Low Blood sugar and Seizures Second update; went out to the truck this afternoon to figure out what was going after having a hum in the speakers and found out that positive wire came loose, it was just dangling from the wire nut though still was on enough to give it energy for fm only, so after changing it with a smaller nut my bluetooth and stereo is totally operational again so bumped my rating back up

Needed an inexpensive stereo with Bluetooth and this fit the bill. Works well and sounds great.

Only reason for four stars is when I stream blue tooth it’s not as loud as the radio. But for a cheap radio for my work vehicle it works good. Bluetooth almost always connects right away. I blame some of it on my phone as well. Bought some cheap speakers and it all works and sounds good for a $50 total setup. Don’t talk on the phone through it l, the Mic is horrible Never had good luck with an integrated mic in a radio. The buttons and everything feel good. Doesn’t feel to cheap and it gets used everyday haven’t had an issue with it. And it has the basic Jensen plug on the back I was able to use the factory connection to it. Didn’t have to use the one that came with it.

By far, this is the worst radio I have ever purchased. I installed this device 6/13/2015 and have had nothing but trouble. 1. The sound quality - The sound quality of the device is sub par. Even for a cheap radio it sounds amazingly cheap. The treble seems to have taken over the entire audio output and the only semblances of "Bass" are a joke. If you do not have an amplifier or amped sub, forget about bass. The equalizer does not help. You get to select from treble, more treble with foggy bass, less treble with foggy bass, all treble. You get the point here. You will get better audio from a cheap pair of headphones plugged in your phone. 2, The buttons - the button quality is astoundingly bad. Several times I pressed the power button to have nothing happen. Luckily it comes with a remote that allows you to power it on from there. If you get this device, expect to be pressing buttons several times to get one action to happen. 3. User Interface - This was a bit of a concern. Seems like they tried to rethink things a bit and got them all wrong. Aux is not labeled Aux, it is An1 or something of the like which looks like Antenna. Bluetooth is listed as BR (bluray). FM is some horrible collection of letters and numbers that I ignore. 4. Bluetooth - THIS WAS THE MAIN REASON I BOUGHT THIS DEVICE and yet it is possibly the most dreadful Bluetooth (BT not BR) experience that I have EVER had with ANY device EVER. This was so bad that I will have to breakdown for you what all happened. Day One, install went well. but my Galaxy Note 2 would not connect. After I restarted the device it connected. After being disheartened by the lackluster audio quality I debated removing the device, but left it installed so that I could continue to test it. Day Two: In the morning the device would connect without issue. Music would play and, while the audio quality was deplorable, it was nice to have access to my music via Bluetooth. On the ride home, the device connected as it did in the morning except the connection must have been bad. The music was garbled. I disconnected the Bluetooth and reconnected it, same thing. Played the music from my speaker on the phone, no issue. reconnected and played the audio, garbled. Made a stop by the store and when I came back out to continue my ride home, the connection was fine and the garbled sound was no longer there. Day Three and Four: In the morning the device connected fine and on the way home the same Day Five: The device struggled to connected on the way home. I was starting to think it was heat related, but it was the coolest day of the week. Day Six: The device only connects to Phone Audio not Media Audio. Restarted my Note 2 and turned off the vehicle (and power to the device) . After I power them back up I repair and connect them both, same issue. I tried the same again, same issue. The device would not connect to media services. Tested the phone on my BT earbuds, connected without an issue. Only the radio itself would not work properly. I would like to say I could return the device, but I damaged it after many days of torture. It was my chance to strike and now the glass over the LCD is broken rather badly. If you want to buy the device after these warnings, at least wear gloves with some padding. My knuckles now hurt. This device is my number one regret so far this year. Save your money and get some sushi or tickets to the movies, but do not, I repeat, do not get this device and expect anything good out of it for any amount of time. ***Update - USB is now part of the problem*** While I had hoped that the device would at least let me use USB, even that is sporadically failing. The USB seems to power cycle at times. If you have anything connected to USB (like I have a USB Bluetooth dongle because the onboard bluetooth is that bad) the connected device will restart. In this day and age I am pretty sure it is more difficult to make a device with this many problems than it is to not.

Great quality cheap car stereo. I bought bluetooth version and it works great, sound is clear, not excellent but clear enough.. anyway this is not a hundred plus dollars car stereo.. Some remarks: It is built on a YD7377 power amplifier, so it really handles maximun 6 watts RMS (Real voltage versus current wattage) per channel, anyway this is enough sound if you just want the music for yourself and not pedestrians. It also got hot enough, it stands a maximum 85 celsius degrees but the colder it works, the longer it will live, so i added an extra temperature dissipator. I've noticed bluetooth once stopped working and it was because i realized cell phone bluetooth must be disconnected prior turning off your car... When this happened it paired correctly, but no music came out so the car's battery should be disconnected, and that way this stereo resets and bluetooth worked fine again. So despite these little flaws, it still works great for me, if i had to buy it again, then im sure ill do it.

Installation -- I installed this into a 2002 Kia Rio. There are no corresponding holes to screw this unit into the stock location, but I was able to make it work. Also, there's an extra few millimeters of plastic surrounding the radio face that I needed to trim before this would fit well. If I had fewer tools or was more timid about cutting stuff up, this might have been a big deal. The wiring harness is simple, and getting it soldered to the stock harness was fiddly, but no problem. Adapters may be available for your vehicle, but you'll still have to do some wiring connections to connect it to the plug which goes into this unit. Physical Quality -- The buttons click loudly, the rotary knob is shiny hard plastic... it feels quite cheap. The lights are bright enough for sunlight, but too bright for night driving. The button labeled "Mute Light" does turn off the light, but only the button backlights, while the brightest source of light -- the number display -- remains on at full power. The display itself is gimmicky -- there's flashing lights that sort of correspond to the audio you're playing. It's only truly responsive when listening to a Bluetooth source. Any other source -- SD, Aux, USB, radio -- it updates perhaps four times a second. Not a biggie, but it is kind of cool to watch flashing lights that really do correspond to your music. Audio Quality -- the amplifier chip in here is a 15 watt per channel chip. I don't remember the actual amplifier chip used in my unit -- TDA-something -- but it's only a 4 x 15W amp. Don't be fooled by the hyperbolic specs on the box or the front of the unit (they disagree with each other anyway!) It's really only capable of putting out that much power, and it uses the back of the sheet steel chassis as the only heatsink -- not adequate for any serious sound needs. If you're connecting tweeters and midrange speakers to this unit, there will be plenty of output from this wattage. Don't expect any real bass output -- you'll need a separate amplifier. The sound quality is good, within the 15 watts per channel. There was a faint hum noise audible when no music was playing. For a home amp, this is not okay, but there will always be enough noise in your car to make it a non-issue. Sound quality was good from every source. I couldn't detect any difference between Bluetooth, SD, Aux-In or radio. The audio differences all came down to quality of the source. If you're listening to heavily compressed mp3, or compressed streamed audio, you may notice. Radio is all heavily compressed (not digital compression, amplitude compression, meaning quiet passages are made louder, loud passages are quieter) so you might notice that from radio. About the radio: the reception is TERRIBLE. Stations I can pull in with every other device won't work with this radio. It is bad enough to knock a star off my rating, and I'm wondering about getting a replacement. For my morning talk radio, I have been using an old MP3 player with FM plugged into the Aux-In port. It's almost as though the antenna wire in the unit is broken. I have a 200W amplifier using the RCA line-out plugs. The signal adjusts with the volume of the unit, and there isn't a way to adjust it. I'm going to need to get a preamp to increase the level of the signal if I want to be able to adjust the subwoofer sound level. Features and function: The display is made of seven-segment LEDs. This limits what can be displayed. For instance, when you select Bluetooth, it displays b and then a backwards 7 which is supposed to be a T. Pressing the volume knob brings up Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader, Loudness, Stereo-Mono, and Equalizer. You've only got two seconds to start adjusting, and figuring out what the seven-segment LED are supposed to be saying usually takes longer than that, so get ready for some frustration while you try to figure out how to adjust your sound settings. Significantly, pressing the "Clock" button brings up the clock display, but it only shows the time for five seconds. There isn't a way to configure this. When playing from SD, this will continue playing the track and track position that it was playing when you turned off the unit. So audiobook fans rejoice. Bluetooth works very well for audio, but not for phone calls. I tested it by pushing the green pickup button and said "Call Karen" into the air. My phone in my pocket woke up, listened to me, called my wife, and the speakers started playing the ringing noise. Then my wife answered and said "HELLO?????? WHAT'S GOING ON?!??? WHAT IS THAT NOISE???? ARE YOU STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC???????" so let's say that's not a feature I'll use again. The microphone in the radio picked up every noise and vibration, and I guess there isn't a good noise-cancellation implementation built in. SUMMARY: I paid $17 for this, and I don't regret it, since it does work

Cannot beat this receiver for this price! Installation is simple, and the quality is surprisingly good. Bluetooth is perfect, and the fm radio is solid. Cannot go wrong with this unit!

Quedé muy satisfecho con el tiempo de entrega, fue antes de la fecha prevista. El precio del producto es acorde a lo que ofrece el estéreo. Todo lo que ofrece funciona bien, sólo hay algunos detalles. Lo que no me gustó fue que en algunas estaciones de radio no se escuchan bien o se escucha interferencia. Durante la reproducción de música por USB hay breves pausas frecuentes. Las llamadas por Bluetooth se escuchan perfectamente. El sonido es bueno. Fácil y sencillo de usar. Lo mejor que puedo decir fue la experiencia de comprar por Amazon, excelente servicio. Recomendado 100%.

Es un estereo bastante sencillo y sin problemas, si la caratula no se le quita pero sabiendo eso da lo esperado, sirve, se escucha bien y no tiene problemas creo que esto es un precio bastante descente para lo que es un estereo.

Obtienes lo que pagas por el estereo. Es un estereo con sonido de 400 pesos. Si ya tienes un estereo de marcas reconocidas por calidad de audio está no es la opción porque notarás disminuir la calidad del audio cómo es mi caso pase de un Pionner mvh 285bt a este estereo (porque me robaron el Pionner). Es muy buen estereo, funciona muy bien y se escucha mejor que varios estereos de agencia. No tiene e muchas opciones para ecualizar o mejorar el audio, si oudes comprar otros de marcas reconocidas mi recomendación es compralas. Pero si quieres gastar poco y un estereo que cumpla con lo básico y mucho más ( por el preciio) esta es la opción.

cabe recalcar que este stereo lo consegui con un descuento brutal de mas del 60% dicho esto, me encanto la verdad esperaba muchisimo menos de el al ser un producto "barato" y con un gran descuento, pero la verdad no me arrepenti de mi compra el bluetooth funciona de maravilla y es practicamente el modo que mas utilizo, la usb funciona de igualmanera y tiene navegabilidad por carpetas lo cual ayuda mucho a encontrar la musica si la tienes bien administrada el unico problema que tube, pero se soluciono configurando mi amplificador, es que el sonido de base es muy alto y es practicamente imposible platicar en el carro aunque pongas el volumen en 1.

Si lo agarras en su precio original que son al rededor de 20 dólares o 500 pesos aprox. Esta muy bien, el detalle es que tarda en leer las SD, y la carátula no se quita, fuera de eso está muy bien.
