Review: Hilariously Funny with an All-Star Cast! - The "Spaceballs" DVD arrived in excellent condition & was packaged well. The DVD was accurately described & is in great condition. This movie is Hilarious & Clever with an All-Star Cast with Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, Daphne Zuniga, Bill Pullman, the late John Candy, Joan Rivers, & Dom Deluise as Pizza the Hut. Clear upgrade over the Blu-ray in both picture and sound
I compared the 4K UHD disc of Spaceballs directly with the Blu-ray by watching the same scenes back to back. My comments here are only about audio and video quality. In terms of video, the 4K disc is a noticeable improvement. The image is sharper, grain looks more natural, and fine details come through much better than they do on the Blu-ray. Backgrounds, costumes, and textures have more clarity, while the Blu-ray looks softer and slightly blurred in comparison. Contrast is also better on the 4K disc, with deeper blacks and brighter highlights that do not wash out detail. Colors look richer and more film-like, while the Blu-ray appears flatter overall. For audio, Spaceballs is not suddenly transformed into a modern Atmos showcase, but the 4K disc still sounds better than the Blu-ray. Dialogue is cleaner and easier to understand, music has more separation, and the overall presentation feels less compressed. On the Blu-ray, busy scenes tend to sound congested, while the 4K disc has slightly wider dynamics and better bass control. The improvement is not dramatic, but it is definitely noticeable when switching directly between the two discs. Overall, if you already enjoy this movie and want the best possible presentation, the 4K disc is worth owning. The video upgrade is significant, and the audio upgrade, while more modest, is still real. My viewing and listening equipment used for this comparison: AVR: Denon AVR-X4500H Power amplifiers: Emotiva amplifier and Monolith M7100X Front speakers: ELAC Debut 2.0 F5.2 Center speaker: ELAC Debut 2.0 C6.2 Atmos speakers: ELAC Debut 2.0 A4.2 (front) and ELAC Debut IC-DT61-W (rear height) Surround speakers: Monolith T5 towers and KEF Q150 rears Subwoofers: Two REL T/1003 10-inch subs 4K player: Panasonic UB420 NOTE: I manually changed my speaker crossovers from 40 Hz to 80 Hz to align with THX standards, and this comparison was done using that setting. Also, I only gave this 4k disc catalog movie 4 stars as I reserve 5 stars for reference quality movies only.

My favorite Mel Brooks film. Star wars spoof at it's best this and Galaxy Quest are two movies that are brilliant.
