Heal the Heel: Perfect Boot for a heel wound that needs time healing
Highly recommend this product. I've got an elderly mother who has suffered a pressure wound on her heel. The wound was significant enough that it will likely take at least 3 months for it to heal enough for her to put pressure on it while walking. In our case, she's allowed herself to become physically weak. So her ability to walk is important while she goes through physical therapy. The straps have been designed so that once you set it across the toes and over the top of the foot, you only have to loosen/tighten a single strap behind the Achilles tendon. It slides on/off very easily with assistance. If the user has to do it on their own, it could be quite challenging if they don't have the flexibility to reach down. The tread well designed and provides good grip on carpet and linoleum. It's a great design specific to a user who has a heel injury or sore. Keep in mind that if the user needs a wheelchair, they should place that foot on a pedal instead of allowing it to drag/slide on the floor.

Update: heel buckle fails; correct heel unloading at a third of the price
UPDATE: 9-6-2022 heel buckle fails. it breaks off at the hinge making the shoe useless.I had a much more expensive shoe before and it failed in the same way, at least this one was less expensive.Prior evaluation : This shoe might seem expensive but it does a good or a better job of taking your weight off of your heel when walking or standing as the very expensive orthopedic versions. and it has a wide range of adjustment so that you can accommodate any bandaging or bracing you may have, how do I know? I've used the expensive ones and they do no better. All most every other inexpensive choices do not unload your heel, they unload the floor under your shoe heel, this shoe actually removes any pressure on your heel. I can wear this all day and engage in normal activity without pain or soreness in my heel. However, it does pitch your foot forward somewhat so avoid unsteady situations unless you take careful precautions.

Okay, but....
They do the job but are a bit confusing and hard to put on because they have so many straps and flaps. Because of their design, despite the heel relief I definitely need, I've developed two small pressure sores on a couple of my toes, which isn't good when you're diabetic. I try to wear them as little as possible and just not put my heel on the ground, but that causes other problems. Fortunately their height is about the same height as my running shoes. But I think these are very expensive for what they are,,, a bit of foam and some velcro straps. But there is no other option to my knowledge.

Works well
Purchased for a fractured heel. Good basic product but after purchasing, found similar shoes for far less money (my own fault, should've done more shopping). Overall it has worked well and is allowing me to walk normally again until I'm all healed up. Be prepared to purchased an arch support and cover your achilles tendon with something. It does take a day or two to get used to the pressure point in the center of your foot. Also the fit level leaves some room for improvement as you really have to cinch it down to keep it from moving around. Unfortunately this leads to some discomfort from restricted blood flow when idle, meaning you'll want to remove it when possible.

Works well for heel pressure relief
Bought this to replace one I was given in rehab. It is the exact same device. Works well to keep pressure off of the heel and stays in place for the duration of wear. It seems a little high priced but it is a medical device and this is America, so that is typical.

Perfect for staying off heel.
My husband had a deep wound on his heel. He could not walk on the heel of his feet at all. I was so glad to find this shoe because it made a big difference in his healing process.

Not what I expected
While this offloading shoe may help a heel, it does not help heal the bottom of the foot issue. It's not thick enough to keep your foot from hitting the ground. It also seems to run very big. I have an ulcer on the bottom of my heal, so it didn't work for me.
