Air circulation fans are the greatest discovery I've made in my stay in this room
Air circulation fans are the greatest discovery I've made in my stay in this room. 2 Fans in my small room I have on full blast for months have been unable to really cool down the room, and leaving me sick from the constant air blowing on my face needing to have it on at nighttime from excessive heat, and living in California is no joke, year round heat even now in the middle of the winter. So I started to look more into getting a new type of fan, at first thinking i possible needed a new tower fan to blow more air into my room, but I figured with 2 fans that I needed to do more research into it. I then started to read on the benefits on air circulation fans in opposition to regular tower type fans. Instead of the air blowing in one concurrent direction directly from a source, the air travels around the room, making it so you can position the fan from any part of the room, blow it onto a wall and cool off a decent sizable room. So I looked into it and then decided to get this fan from its decent size and price value in comparison to other fans This fan is stationary, you basically place it anywhere in a room you need to be cooled off, and position it according to your particular needs. If you blow it onto a wall, it will cool off the room by circulating around the wall where the heat is coming from, and move the air around the room. If its winter time, you can position it near the wall where the source of heat is coming from to produce a better air temperature for the room in general. It has 3 settings for speeds, a setting to use rotary outer blades on the front of the fan that will increase the size of space it can cover, a setting to make it simulate a breeze, and a remote control on top of it for the lazy couch potatoes like myself, all for a solid price of $30 dollars. The greatest part about this fan for myself is the fact that I don't have to have it directly blowing on top of me, which allows me to completely cool off my room without getting morning dry throat from air blowing on my face all day. And the portability provided by the handle allows me to carry and travel with this fan to places if i ever feel the need. For so far having it in my room to provide a refreshingly cool atmosphere I can't recommend it enough.

The missing dimensions
When I researched this fan the only dimensions I could find were "12 inches.". So when the box arrived I thought at first that the wrong item was shipped because the box is huge. 12 inches pertains to the fan blade. The fan itself measures 16.3/4" wide and 17 3/4" tall. It has a narrow depth of only 5 1/2". This enables it to sit on the window sill rather nicely. As a floor fan it might get knocked over more easily because of its narrow footprint. So it all depends what you want it for. I needed to replace an aging smalll box fan and it had to fit on the sill of the kitchen window which has two side panels that crank open. When I saw how large this fan is I swallowed at first but then gave it a try. I had to shim it due to the crank. After that it FIT!!! Next came the question as to loudness and any rattles. On Low the fan is barely heard but still draws an impressive amount of air. On High it is still much quieter than a Honeywell tabletop fan which is noisy as heck and does nothing in terms of air movement. The only thing I wish this fan had is a Reverse to draw out hot kitxchwn air. I will have to manually turn it around. Holmes, make it perfect by adding a Reverse function! The llight gray grid covering the fan blade can be turned on or off to slowly oscillate which distributes the air more widely into the room. Each time it is turned on it alternates the direction of the oscillation. The remote is a nice touch. If not in use it can be strored in the back of the fan. Same with the cord, it tucks away into a lidded compartment. This is a quality fan that moves a lot of air while remaining very quiet. It comes with a three year limited warranty. Since most window fans don't last past their first year and die right after the warranty expires I do hope that this fan will fare better. I am glad that I looked beyond small box fans and found this model.

Still good years later.
Bought this back in 2019. And let me tell you, I am not disappointed. Took awhile to get used to the noise level because I wasn't used to having a fan, however once I did, it's been amazing ever since. Pros: LONG LIFE - I've had this fan running almost 24/7 for the last 4 years and it still works as well as the day I unboxed it. Noise level: Minimal. It is a powerful thing, so it might drown everything out for a minute, but once you get used to the noise level it becomes background noise that you don't really pay attention to (at least on low). POWER: I HAVE THE POWER! At least this fan does. even on low it's pretty powerful and does an excellent job at moving air around. Especially in small spaces. This is my bedroom fan and it keeps air moving and temps down, helpful during summer. Timer: I don't use the timer but the few times I tried it to see if I liked it I had no issues. Portability: It's not a small small fan, but it is small enough to move easily if needed and fit into a smaller space. The cord/remote storage is an added bonus with the handle. Remote: Works from a decent amount of feet away. Never had any issues with it and haven't had to replace it in the 4 years I've owned it (probably subject to change depending on how often you use the remote). Cons: Not one that I can think of actually! Overall: 10/10 Solid purchase that will last for literal years. UPDATE: July 10th, 2025 - motor finally seized and I had to retire it. RIP to one of the best fans I've ever owned.

Good deal for amount of size, power and options
This little fan packs a punch! It's not on a Wind Machine level, but for it's size, it has great reach, and for those looking for white noise, a good sound level. Pros Portable Small size Sound Remote Options Con Limitations on the remote No tilt up/down options Cons: This is more my fault, but for some reason I thought you could tilt this fan up/down, to prevent it from blowing on you. Yes, I know you could just as easily face it away from you instead, but I was used to this option with other fans. Not a deal breaker though. The remote gives you the option of changing fan speed, oscillation, timer length, power on/off... Providing there's nothing blocking it. Some remotes work through beds, nightstands, etc. Not this one, sadly. So for anyone who doesn't want to get up, or can't due to working from home, limited mobility, etc, be sure to place that fan in a visible and non restrictive spot. Pros: This fan has a decent weight to it, but has a large carrying handle on the top, and holder for the remote and storage space for the cord in the back, making it a breeze to carry all of it to another place quickly. It's smaller size also helps with this, for storing and for just not taking up as much space. The sound level is a nice white noise level. It's no Wind Machine as mentioned before, but enough to drown out the silence or whatever you need it to. The remote is a nice added feature, letting you control everything from a distance when needed. Just be sure it's not blocked by walls, furniture, etc. Timer, speed settings, oscillation, all these features make the price tag look like a steal. I'm finding that this allows me to set a timer before bed, and know that A) I don't have to turn it off when I get up, and B) I'm saving some electricity by having it turn off well before I get up to do that. The oscillation is surprisingly better than I thought. The entire fan doesn't move when you trigger this, just the interior. I thought it was broken or defective until I actually felt the actual oscillation. The grill doesn't move as fast as I thought it would, but it doesn't seem to impact the air flow at all. Overall, for the price, amount of options, ease of use, and noise level, this fan is excellent and will do nicely.

Great so far!
**UPDATE** My family loved this fan so much that I bought 5 more. One for myself, my boyfriend, brother, sister, and the living room. Definitely worth it! My dad’s is still going strong with no issues. 110% recommend this fan. This fan is AMAZING. I got this as a birthday gift to my dad because his table fan in his room is old. It's super loud and makes this mechanical noise, so it's not good if you're trying to sleep. I saw this and decided to give it a try! I thought the remote control was a nice touch because I've laid down in bed before and have gotten all nice and comfortable when I realize I forgot to turn my fan on that's across the room. This fan is super powerful and relatively quiet. It's highest setting was as loud as the first setting on my dad's old fan. He absolutely loves this thing and has used it every night since mid July. No problems so far! I wish the remote had a back-light for the buttons though for those times you need to change the setting in the dark. But that is my only complaint. If this still holds up well, we are going to order a few more for the house! Oh, just a heads up. This sucker is big. I though the whole unit was 12 inches. NOPE! The diameter of the blade housing is 12 inches. If I remember correctly, the actual height came out to 19 inches and going across is about 14/15 inches. Just keep that in mind when buying it! I did not realize that when I bought it, but it still fit on his counter. It moves a lot more air around the room so the size turned out to be perfect. My dad just started using the osculating feature and loves it. It even has a timer on there!

100% recommend!
I have had this fan for years now. I once took it into work. Top floor of a building, no a/c and the windows didn’t open much and/or non-existent. They had all kinds of fans. Guess which one got ‘commandeered’ immediately? It just works. It has everything you need. Sometimes you need it to really blow the air on you. Crank it. It’ll do that. It rotates and oscillates without moving. There’s that too. Times when I thought only an a/c would do, I’ve been able to get by quite nicely with this fan. I can set it up to ‘pull’ air through several rooms and not have to deal with as loud a sound as a window unit a/c can make. I really don’t know how to recommend this fan enough. I have actually taken it on road trips with me just in case a place doesn’t have a fan or a/c. It is thin enough to easily pack. It has a handle at the top and the cord wraps up nicely. It was nothing to bring it with. If anything happened to it, I would buy the exact same one. I hope they keep making these.

Blown away, haha! Really nice fan!
I somehow was expecting this Holmes branded fan to be rather run-of-the-mill in quality and features, yet hopefully still sufficient. I was very pleasantly surprised that this actually seems to be a very high quality fan. It even has what seem to be some rather state-of-the-art features. As a comparison, I’ve had 2 Vornado fans in my lifetime and I find that this fan generally is better than even those. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks, so I can’t attest to the durability, but there so far are no red flags to suggest it might not last well. The oscillating design doesn’t turn the whole fan housing back and forth like a typical oscillating fan, but it rotates a specially designed circular grill housed over the front of the fan to continuously vary the directions the breeze blows. I find this more practical and also more efficient than standard oscillation. This can be easily turned off if that feature isn’t needed. The fan is bigger than I somehow had envisioned, but that is just fine. It has a very slim profile (depth) that makes it ideal for using in front of a window. I find that it is also tilted back at a perfect angle for window use. The tilt is not adjustable, but something makeshift might be readily devised if adjustability like that is desired. This fan is lightweight and not at all top heavy. It has a practical built-in handle for moving it about. It is not exactly whisper quiet, but I find that it creates very pleasant “white noise” even on high. There are 3 speeds. There are also a couple of speed variability settings that I’ve not tried, so I can’t honestly assess those. The included remote control is a nice feature, but please note that the required 2 AAA batteries are not included. All controls are also easily managed right on the fan itself, so the remote isn’t essential. All in all, I feel this is quite a nice fan and quite the bargain for the $40 price tag.

Could it be? An EXCELLENT HOLMES Fan???
I have more than a casual interest in industrial design, and powered-fans and their various designs have been of particular interest to me for a few years. I believe we're at the tailend of a small renaissance in fan design, one that began approximately 3 years ago at which time there seemed to be an minor explosion of novel designs. Most of them would fit under the now-ubiquitous "tower fan" designation, but there simply didn't exist much choice in the world of fans prior to that. Back then, I bought an Ozeri tower fan that I still have and use. It was definitely a unique design upon its release, and after some toothing problems, it's performed admirably well. Then I went looking for a desk fan. While it seemed like not one maker was capabale of producing a desktop fan that basically functioned back then, there were two well-known companies with names starting with 'H' that were hawking fans that were shockingly abysmal. Holmes was one of them. When I initially noticed this fan for sale, I was interested in the design, but I purposely avoided it due to Holmes less-than-stellar reputation as well as my personal checkered history with their products. BUT, the design, with its rotating grill in place of a traditional oscillation, was just too interesting to not try out, and I needed a fan for my guest room anyway. So, the purchase was made... Low and behold, with this fan Holmes has somehow jumped from "consider-under-no-circumstances" to vying for title of "Ghost_Goat's Favorite Fan" alongside a conspicuously more pricey "Rowenta Super Extreme Berserker Death Chill 7000 something something" fan I also take pleasure in owning. This fan isn't just novel, it simply works. I'd even go as far to say that the rotating grill does a superior job in dispersing air than anything with traditional oscillation. It's relatively quiet, generally sturdy, smartly engineered, with thoughtful touches like a remote holder on the back where the remote can be placed when the fan is not in use or in storage for the season. The build quality is still a little rough around the edges, but it would be difficult to expect much better at this price point. Plus, the money for R&D had to come from somewhere, and in the case of this Holmes, that economic choice is paying dividends that more than makeup for the just-slightly homely looks. If you're in the market for a good and inexpensive fan, this one should be on your list. If you're in the market for a great and expensive fan, this should still be on your list. The Blizzard punches WAY above its weight class.

Muy bueno
Es un muy buen ventilador, echa suficiente aire. No es muy compacto para viajes, y hace un poco de ruido pero funciona muy bien. Y además cuenta con el control remoto

Love this fan
Great fan and not loud. Love that it oscillates internally and its not the whole fan moving so it sits perfectly on a narrow shelf

Great fan but make sure to...
Make sure to read the specs. The picture is misleading, they enlarged the remote so the fan looks smaller. The fan is big, and works great.
