Voltage Reducer DC 8V-40V to 12V 3A 36W Automatic Buck Boost Converter Step Down Up Regulator Waterproof Module Transformer for Golf Cart Club Car

I bought this to step down a battery that was rated at 12v but was actually delivering 18v. I wanted to power a telescope mount but not fry its electronics. Fortunately, I'm cautious enough to test the battery before just blindly hooking it up. With this in the circuit, the battery delivers a nice even 12v.

I'm using this to power a Tech2 to avoid the typical Tech2 reboot while starting the vehicle. For that it works beautifully. I bench tested all the way down to 5.5 volts and it still maintained the full 12v output. Very happy with my purchase, we'll see how long it lasts.

Great product, works exactly as expected. However, at one point I made a careless error and accidentally reversed polarity on the input and burned out something in the circuit. The internals aren't easily accessible, they're filled with some kind of rubber material so I can't easily replace whatever burned out. If y'all could add an easily accessible diode that could be swapped out to protect against accident prone people like me that would make a great product even better.

I needed a regulated output to 'clean' up a noisy 12V line that was a PWM motor speed control and proximity limit switches. The PWM control would put a lot of noise on the 12V line at mid-speed that would false trigger the prox switches. I tried using this to power only the prox switches...the noise made it through the converter and didn't help. I had to use PNP vs NPN prox to fix. I also did not verify the DC volt range it claimed...I used 12V in, 12V out. Would buy again, just not as a filter.

Works just fine. Using it to convert 18v Li batteries to 12v to run a vexilar for ice fishing. Nice weight savings and I already had several tool batteries to use instead of buying new lead or dedicated lithium batteries for the flasher. Output volts is 11.8v. Would be nice if it were a little bit smaller but build is solid.

I installed this quickly in my boat, and found that the power loss was very small, all the devices connected after this had a consistent brightness.

I have found these cheaper elsewhere, but other than that this has been working wonderfully and outputting the proper voltage even though the input voltage changes.

Was using as a reducer for a solar panel to a charge controller. Didn’t work for me.
