IKEA 901.491.48 Frakta Storage Bag, Blue, 4 Pack

Update: I was asked to answer a question about my purchase and I was able to provide more information so I am going to include it here in case it could help someone else. Product Dimensions Depth: 13 ¾ " Height: 11 ¾ " Length 28" Max. load: 55 lb Volume: 20 gallon I really liked these bags. I was able to use them for a few different things. I liked them so much I ordered more. I have seven of them. I used them for the following things: Guest bedding: when we have company we use an inflatable mattress so I have one bag devoted to a twin sized comforter and the two pillow shams that match. I also have a set of standard twin sheets with pillow cases and I was able to also get two new pillows from Walmart into the bag as well. These were standard size, thin pillows. The bag held all of this stuff. However, you can see stress on the bag where the zipper is sewen to the bag. It's a lot of stuff but it is holding up. Kids toys: I use 4 bags to hold toys for my kids to trade out weekly. Some of the stuff they have is so bulky tht these bags are great for containing that. I am able to fill it up and put it in our dry basement and just grab the next bag in line. Curtains: we recently moved and there is a very big difference from the amount of windows we had to what we have now. So all of our excess curtains are being stored in there. The bags handle a lot of weight. When you pick the bag up after it is stuffed it's sometimes surprising how much the bag can hold. Beach/swimming: the last bag we have is currently holding all of our summer swimming attire as well as the kids life jackets, 2 adult and 2 pairs of kids water shoes, a beach bag, swim clothes for everyone, bubbles, sand toys, a few games and large beach towels. I purchased these before we moved so initially these bags were stuffed full of stuff that needed to be moved from one house to another they held up perfectly and did what they were meant to do. I LOVE these bags. I have not had any problems with these bags and I have recommended them to multiple people. Original review: First off, I don't live near an Ikea so I don't generally get to use their products. We were moving and I thought these bags would provide a safe transport for clothing, pillows, blankets, etc. I was right. These bags are great. They are exceptionally easy to use and can carry a heavy load as easily as a light one. The material is most similar to the material that tarps are made of. This making them virtually waterproof. I have no idea if the zipper area would allow water or moisture in. However, as you can see in the picture the bright yellow zipper is fully exposed. It is not a thick zipper but rather a regular "duffel bag" zipper. Had they made the tarp material drape over the zipper area I think these bags would be above average for protection. I not only recommended this bag I bought a few batches of them. I have used them for everything. I have not had one problem with them yet and I have completed our move. I decided to use the bags for storage that is helpful to have separated. So I have one set up for swimming, another set up for company (a twin comforter, top and fitted sheets, two pillow cases, two pillow shams, and two regular sized pillows), ball pit balls that my boys use, and I am even using one for storage in the back of the car. It holds everything that has always been in the car but it makes it easily accessible and easy to get to something in the bag or remove it completely. This is one item that I feel like I really got more than my moneys worth. I would recommend it to anyone.

I've tried every other type of ikea/large capacity bag and these are hands down the best and I would order them again in a second. What makes this bag great for storing and carrying during a move is: the full zip, large rectangular shape that actually holds it's shape despite the flexible material, and THE STRAPS that I used as a "backpack" style to carry clothing and more during a move that I otherwise wouldn't have been strong enough to carry in a box or by hand. I took my clothes (and other items would work just as well) that were hanging in my closet, folded them in half and put them in these and they were a lifesaver! An entire master closet fit in three of these bags and allowed me to carry them on my back, which was the most helpful thing as I was moving as a single woman and had to get as much as possible as quickly as I could on my own. This not only saved me space and allowed me to carry much more weight because of the "backpack" straps (I don't have a Frakta cart), this allowed me to carry boxes and other bulky items in my hands which saved me many trips up and down stairs. I used these same 3 I purchased for multiple trips with maximum (if not too much) weight in them and only one strap on one of the bags pulled out from the threading just a little, but it's actually still functional and hasn't broken if I carry it without putting too much weight in it. However, I really do think the quality holds up just as well as the functionality because I knew I put too much weight in the bags and made multiple trips with them on my back...so that wasn't at all unexpected it was just my fault of going over the capacity and having the straps pulled for too long. Versatile for storage for many different items, super handy to have for moving items or if you are someone like myself and live alone in an apartment where just carrying groceries can be a tough situation or require multiple trips, these are awesome to keep on hand! I even keep one in my car now as I have been able to haul items from bulky groceries to multiple boxes of Goodwill items in just one trip. For the price, just buy these if you're considering it! They made a horrible move much easier and they just make life easier. Strong, holds so much and can utilize straps for different ways to carry as well as for carts.

For the price, these bags are great! I doubt they'll hold up to much punishment, making them fine for storage... not great for frequent transport of stuff. The size seems perfect for clothing in that you can't really over load them with weight they can't handle unless you're using them for something heavier than clothing. I packed one overfull with pants (mostly blue jeans) and it held up. So if you think the size could be bigger... that's probably why. More space and you'd need bulkier seams and handles. Fill it with books and it will surely be short lived. They're made of that blue tarp material with the ripstop. So once you pack it with your summer t-shirts and stick it on a shelf, your clothes are protected from dust, moisture, bugs, etc. Also handy for a move. Much better to sling a series of stackable bags to a truck or a storage pod than putting your clothes in huge cardboard boxes that are: - awkward to carry without them falling apart. - absorb moisture inviting mold issues if you're storing for a while. - leave you with boxes to break down and recycle (and normally in bad condition after one use. These bags however... - Pack 'em and Stack 'em in bite size chunks. - a sharpie labels what's inside quite well. So mark on the same spot for each bag and it's easy to find what you're looking for. - For a move, you end up with reusable bags that take zero space so you're set for your next move. - Clothing is protected from water, mold, etc. (tip: toss a dryer sheet in for long term storage. Don't expect to haul bricks, but for the designed purpose, it's a convenient and economical option. Reserving one star until I see how well the seams hold up.
