Sidewalk Cracks!: Discover, Color, Create

This book pairs well with other Carla Sonheim books that are more instructional. This is like a creative workbook that gives you templates to draw on and imagine animals made out of the cracks! Carla’s work is so whimsical, and this is a fun way to try it out myself without having to roam about on a rainy day looking for my own sidewalk cracks! It really exercises the imagination.

I sent this book to my grandchildren in Dallas and Seattle and they all loved it. It sparked their creation - now I want one for myself.

Thought I was getting a how-to drawing book. Kind of odd, and not to useful as an art teacher.

Fifteen sidewalk cracks, 150 pages. The game is to find an image (animal or else) draw it and put colours on it. It's base on the idea of pareidolia. Once again, Carla has done a fun book for all the artists who want to give their brain a little rest. I have done a few drawings of the same crak yet I still see other things each time I turn the page. THAT IS A FUN BOOK!!! One can use it by itself or make a "drawing party". I recommend to use dry medium like colour pencils on the done drawing since the pages are fragile to wet mediums.
