Titebond II Extend Wood Glue 1 Gal. – Slow-Set, Type II Water-Resistant Adhesive – 4136

Definitely longer open and curing time. So far, it has the strength is what you can expect out of Titebond PVA glues.

I bought this when I was assembling a crib for my grandchild. I had a lot of rails that needed to be glued in and needed something with an extended setting time. This bottle was the right size for that job.

I prefer this glue for assembling my box jointed wood boxes, since the time that it takes me to get glue on the four corners of my box jointed boxes and then get the boxes assembled and clamped takes me longer than the regular Titebond II allows. I'm no longer in "race mode" and can get the boxes assembled and clamped well before the glue starts setting. Chair glue-ups frequently fell into "race mode" with Titebond II as well, but now they also go smoothly when using Titebond Extend. I have not had a single joint failure with either type glue, but the Extend version is so much easier to use for the more complicated assemblies. I always keep both available in my shop.

I am a professional custom woodworker, and Titebond Extend is my go-to glue for any assembly that will take more than a few minutes to put together or will have a glue line that must be stained or clear coated. It gives me extra time to spread glue on a large amount of surface area, put the parts together, and get them clamped before the glue starts to set. As the attached photos show, once the exposed edges are cleaned up, the glue lines virtually disappear, because this glue dries almost clear. I highly recommend this glue for all skill levels of woodworkers.

This product from Titebond does have a longer open time than Titebond II & III. For complicated glue-ups it really helps. I’m not sure it will have a s strong a bond as their other products though. So far, I like the glue.

Second time i've used this for a complex glueup. Definitely gives you time to get everything in place. Runnier than titebond 3. Definitely strong.

Does take time for initial set but no longer time to cure than other wood glues. Really comes in handy for big or intricate assembly projects.

Game changer beim Leimen! Das Leimen war für mich oft eine hektische, nervenaufreibende Angelegenheit. Jetzt habe ich Zeit und muss mir keine Sorgen machen, dass ich nicht rechtzeitig fertig bin, bevor der Leim zu trocknen anfängt. Für schnelles arbeiten natürlich ungeeignet und es macht auch eine größere Sauerei, das ist es mir aber allemal wert. Zudem auch für das Wegwischen des Leims beim rausquellen mehr Zeit bleibt.

Was assemblibg a lot a piesces and used thus for the first time. Very pleased with the adhesive.

The product title says it all. Longer open time when you need it!

The whole point of buying a new bottle is to have shelf time (usually 12 months) and this one is from february 2023, so 3 years, so long past due date. This shouldn't be sold when it's so old, that's why there is a date.
