Great Power Supply
Originally bought a Corsair 750-TX (a very highly rated PSU) for my recent computer build. First couple of shakedown runs had a coil whine issue - where the unit produces a very high-pitched vibration noise. Returned it for a second one, which had the same problem. Performed several tests to ensure that it was the power supply, at least within my setup (i5-3570k OC'd and GTX 670).Anyway, I returned that one as well and simply went with buying this Seasonic. Coil whine issue went away- and I have a much better power supply for it.This one is fully modular: all the cables can be plugged in to the PSU, so you use only as many as you need. Cable management heaven. The fan has a "Hybrid" mode, which, as I understand it, adjusts the fan speed of the PSU to an appropriate level. This is great for reducing fan noise under lode.Platinum 80+ certified: this is one of the most efficient power supplies you can find. Savings from this level means that the difference of this PSU to a lower end one will pay for itself after a year (if you sue it as much as I do- which, if you're looking at this power supply, I would imagine you do).Seasonic is actually the company behind many other power supply brands. Still, they'll save the best for their own brand. I have read some reviews by some more technically-competent individualsthan I who praise the soldering and wiring work of Seasonic units, saying their often the best quality units around.Highly recommended power supply; easy to install, operates great, and will pay for itself in energy savings eventually.

Nice performing PSU, slightly bad on the accessories side
It's a really nice unit. Can be turned pretty quiet using a switch, which tells it to go fanless, when there is a possibility.Good power capacity. A lot of connection options.A little bad side to it is included cables.I suppose each vendor is free to choose the connector type on the PSU side (SATA connect of course should be standard!).So all the cables are detachable, with a unique connector type. And I have this mid-tower case, which is pretty tall. And the PSU is located at the bottom. The unit has two long and one shorter SATA power cables in the box. So the long story short, for my setup, it turned out I needed to use that shorter cable, which didn't reach to the top slot devices (DVD Drive). So I needed to buy an additional extender SATA-to-SATA power extender cable.Don;t get me wrong the longer cables do have a lot connectors on them. It's just you can't reach all the drives with the same cable and on top of that - it's pretty sturdy, doesn;t bend so well. Some reviewers warned users that the earlier revision of this same model did have longer power cables included.Other than that a great unit!

Great PSU - but frustrated with the whole experience
I love Seasonic (the #1 PSU maker in the world) and this PSU - but I have two issues with this purchase.First, and this is more of an Amazon issue than a Seasonic one, is that I needed it quick for a new build, and paid extra for two day shipping. It came really quick in like a day and half, but when I opened the Amazon box....WOW. The Seasonic box inside was not sealed and was actually partially opened. The cardboard flaps were open and the contents looked like they had been removed and then stuffed back into the box haphazardly. In fact, the Seasonic box's cardboard was even slightly ripped, and one corner was smashed like it had been dropped. Shame on you Amazon for shipping a premium $200 PSU out like this. It really looked like they sent me a returned/opened item and not a brand new one like I ordered.Secondly is about the PSU itself. Like I said, I really needed this for a new build - so I went ahead and used it. I had to. The actual PSU looked undamaged and after completing the build - everything powered up and was running fine, with one caveat: I have yet to see this PSUs fan spin. I know it has a hybrid fan system and stays off until under load, but I have stress tested over and over and tried to put the system under heavy load to check for stability issues (unfortunately my office stays really cool, so it never heats up no matter what I do). The computer is great and has had no crashes or BSODs, but again, the PSU fan has never spun once. I've tried the little switch on this unit in both modes "Hybrid" and "Normal." It makes no difference. The fan never spins no matter what. Is this normal? Also - shouldn't the PSU's fan spin for a few seconds when I first turn on the computer. It doesn't. I would appreciate it if anyone with this exact same unit would check and see if their PSUs fan spins when they first power on. If it does, I know I have a defective unit. If not, mine is good.I called Seasonic, but it just goes to voice mail, so I left a message but have received no reply.I emailed their Customer Support and they just sent me a link to RMA it. They never even answered any of these questions whether this is normal or not, or if the fan spins when the system is powered on. Again, the PSU is working fine, and all wattage and voltage readings are normal. I've checked using several utility programs. I just want to make sure the fans not completely broken and I didn't get a bad unit.So I can't give a stellar rating because of Amazon sending me this particular open box unit and these fan issues. I have a feeling if the unit had been all sealed up and closed, I would be writing a two word - 5 start review like: AMAZING PSU!Instead I'm titling this "Frustrated with the whole experience" and taking away 1 star.**EDIT- Just confirmed that I do have a defective PSU from Seasonic. Have to take it out (ARGH!) and send it back to Amazon. They're sending me a new one. I will update this review [adventure] as soon as I have everything back in place. Please don't let me down again Amazon. Please.UPDATE - 11/27/14 (Thanksgiving). Amazon sent me a new Seasonic PSU and it was definitely a new one in a brand new SEALED box this time. Even the surrounding packaging was better. Came last night (in 2 days). This one works perfectly and the fan does spin at all times on Normal mode, and when powering up. I'll give Amazon kudos for fixing my issue so quickly, but still - they should not have sent me a used/returned item in the beginning. And they have not responded or apologized about it either which is not good business. I'm happy now, but it still kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure how many if any more Amazon purchases I'll make. At least for a while. As far as the Seasonic PSU - ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!! Highly recommended. Expensive yes, but its a great unit. Even Mercedes and BMW make a bad car or a lemon now and then. I'm not mad at Seasonic at all. 5 Stars for the PSU!!!

Excelente!!

A good choice for a Gaming PC
EDIT: It's November 2018 so I've had this PSU for one year so far, I've had it powering a Ryzen & Vega Gaming PC that's used every day for gaming & browsing & it hasn't missed a beat.Original Review: For me I was really pushing the boat out when I paid 150 for this psu as I'd only ever gone up as far as 100 when I bought the psu this psu's replacing & I thought I was pushing the boat out back then as well, However, This time I wanted modular and better than the bronze rating my 6 year old psu offered & I lucked out by getting this.
