Review: Beautiful book for Tarot learning and reading and understanding. - Love this Tarot book. Nice and big and legible. Has all the meanings for all the cards Has full description of the cards. right side up and reverse. Has beautiful pictures and a nice introduction and explanation of how to use the book. Has nice tarot card spreads. For the major arcana. Lots more. If you are in need of a tarot book check this out and if you purchase, you will not be sorry and think it is just another tarot book I have lots of tarot books beside this one. I really like it for its simplicity of the write ups. Review: This book is very enlightening and easy to understand - I am a beginner to reading tarot cards. This book is very enlightening and easy to understand, and is welcoming for a newbie such as myself. In the beginning of the book Liz Dean explains several very simple ways to view the cards. She tells you how you can interpret a card just by its color, or by its number or suit. It gives brief summaries of the meanings of the cards as a quick reference, but then it has entire pages dedicated to each card, and even includes the reversed meanings. The descriptions go super in depth in an easy to understand way and they cover a wide variety of contexts and situations. Just by reading about a card, you will find yourself with a far better understanding of it. There's a ton of information presented in a very concise manner - you will learn a lot but it won't feel boring or tedious. The beginning of the book also includes some very fascinating history about tarot. There are also a wide variety of spreads to try - she demonstrates one-card, three-card, and weekly and monthly readings among many others. Each card of the major arcana also has its own spread that you can try. I'm very glad that I bought this book - I've still got a long way to go before I've mastered tarot, but this book has made the task feel a whole lot less intimidating. The colorful illustrations and the organization of each section make it a fun and engaging read. Worth noting is that this book uses the Universal Waite tarot - a variation of the Rider Waite Smith deck. So, I recommend having a variation of that deck if you are using this book to study, because it will make things a lot easier to follow.

Excellent Tarot Book and Seller!
I've read a plethora of tarot books, this is one of the best for learning and ongoing quick reference. Explains the OG original Smith Coleman Tarot, (Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn) , which is THE OG base foundation with all original symbology which all other tarot decks draw upon, which if understood, will give you the best foundation to draw on and apply to any other deck for life This book has it all: Key meanings of each card as well as thorough explanation and description, alternate names, Numerology link, astrological sign or planet, element, hebrew letter, tree of life pathway, chakra, astrological symbolism, and ALL magickal symbolism in each card explained, in an easy to access and clear format for easy referencing! Wonderful book! You get all of the info and symbolism in a concise yet thorough way without the convoluted overload of info that some books seem to have ,,, Also, seller 'Hawking books' gave me exceptional customer service when I had a question, fast response and very helpful, highly recommend them as well

Beautiful and detailed guide for tarot beginners
I'm new to reading tarot cards and have signed up for a class next month, but I was eager to start learning now. I'll be honest...I judged this book by its cover! I was drawn to the bold colors and pictures of the cards on front. But inside is even better! The author gives some history on tarot up to the current deck that most people are familiar with - the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. The book features sections for the major and minor arcana cards. Each individual card gets its own section with detailed descriptions of each card's image, meanings, and how to interpret them during a reading. Sample spreads are provided throughout the book, from simple to more complex. I've learned so much already, and just love looking at this beautiful, colorful book. I purchased a similar book around the same time (which I also love) but if you can only buy one, I recommend this one!

Best guidebook I've had and would recommend
This book is an absolute must for anyone starting out reading Tarot. I've been reading Tarot for 18 years now and had a different guide book that I used for about 10 years, which helped but was so outdated that I felt like I wasn't learning everything there is to know about my spreads and cards.... Until I came across this book. Now my spreads are much more detailed and the interpretations have helped greatly, even for someone like me who is familiar with the cards. I have learned new things about the cards that I didn't have access to with the older book I was using. I've also noticed a few typos and misspelled words in the book, but not a big deal for me, since I just write in a correction and leave it as it is. I'm happy with this book. It is a large size, easy to use and the index in back helps to find the card you're looking for without searching the entire book. There is also some added interpretations for astrology and such, which I find helpful when someone is asking for a reading including those specs. Overall I am more confident in my readings because of this book and I know that some people would advise against using a book for interpretations when reading cards, but I on the other hand disagree, because sometimes I get stuck with meanings and what is written in the book details it out perfectly leaving my sitter very impressed and happy with the added detail in their reading- Oh I don't read in person either, all my readings are prepared and emailed so my sitters don't know I'm using a guidebook so it works well for me.

Great book, bad binding
This guide is beautifully done and very informative. However, the spiral binding is not good. Every time I use the book, I have to be careful that the spiral binding does not come undone from the top or bottom of the book (which it has several times). It's kind of disappointing, but otherwise, the content of the book is excellent.

Best Quality Book,, Glossy pgs., Most informant, LAY-OUT is EASY READING
I looked at many books for help with tarot reading and this came highly recommended on YouTube by several in the craft. I am not disappointed. It gives short paragraph history of why artwork & where it came from. The entire card full meaning including numerology, kabbala, astrology, crystals, the bodies chakra, upright & reversed meaning!! From introduction to How to begin in the easiest format I have ever seen. Liz Dean composed for simple learning For more complicated card additional 3 ideas what card may cover regarding HOME, RELATIONSHIP, CARREER & MONEY, it explains further possibilities. I took pictures so you can see how thorough info. A total of 7 or 8 pages of types of spreads and samples of spreads for Major Arcana. I love the TABLE OF CONTENTS saves me so much time. My other book I had to use tabs. For memorization they put all Major Arcana & Minor on two seperate pgs. Which makes so nice to see all together and the color and quality of pages really make the book enjoyable & easy to thumb through. Highly recommend for any level. I am a novice & have been looking to get my money's worth without too many books!

If you only want to own one book on the Tarot, own this one.
My first books on the Tarot (over 40 years ago) were those by Eden Grey. These were followed by Eileen Connoly's three "Handbooks" (to this day, probably my favorite of the dozens that I have read). Hajo Banzhaf's "Tarot and the Journey of the Hero" is quite possibly the most enlightening book on the Major Arcana that I have ever read. Why do I mention all of these other books? Because as much as I love every one of them for how they have helped me understand the Tarot, if I was to recommend a single book to a beginner who wanted to start on a meaningful journey into the Tarot, it would be this one. There's no way around it - if you want to achieve meaningful results with the Tarot, you have to commit to learning the 78 meanings (156 if you use reversed meanings), and this takes time. But with the excellent descriptions of the cards themselves, and especially valuable discussions of the symbols contained on the cards, I believe the time can be condensed, and a deeper understanding of the cards obtained using this book than any other single book that I have read. Even for someone who first learned the cards 40 years ago (and whose memory is not quite what it once was), this book provided an excellent "refresher" - and provided some new insights that I had not read before. Note: This book is very closely tied to the Rider/Waite/Coleman Tarot deck (and is illustrated with the Universal Waite deck). Although there are many different Tarot decks available (I have about a dozen), I HIGHLY recommend using one of the Waite decks for study with this book.

Good friendly guide to tarot towards magic studies
Well-design book. Really pretty. Regarding content. For those who like to study tarot for magical purposes, like I am, this is a good one. It has correspondences (astrological, Tree of Life Pathways and so on), descriptions of symbolism regarding the Waite-Smith deck. Also I use it for the specific spreads with the Major Arcana. As an Ultimate Guide, it could be more in depth, but it works just fine to an overview. Recommend it for the day to day and very welcoming to novices.
