Wide Tooth Comb

These are really nice combs. My new favorites! I like the weight and thickness of these. They are also really gentle on my hair. No snagging or anything. I got the wide-tooth combs with handles, as well as the fine tooth comb (the thicker version) and the moon comb. Very pleased with all of them! The sandal wood smell does not bother me. I actually find it very calming. That plus the action of combing my hair makes for a pleasant experience right before bed. All of the combs I've ordered have been in stellar condition. No complaints whatsoever (except for the stupid rule of just one per customer per order - I like having them available in multiple places and am also considering getting a few as gifts for my sisters). Having used these for about a week now on a daily basis (alternating between the wide and fine tooth combs), I'm loving the effect they are having on my hair. It just feels better overall. Softer, less tangled, less frizz. I can't say enough good things about them! My only regret is that I'm only now discovering these. Very pleased. The value for money is great! The color is also very attractive. I'm always a fan of natural wood tones.

I don't normally review things from day one of using it, but I had to with this wooden comb set! It was exactly what I was looking for, and more. These are two decently priced but great quality wooden combs (one wide-tooth, one rat tail) that smell so good right out of the packaging (which, by the way, was horrible. For how fragile wooden combs can be, it's odd that they put it in a thin and tacky material that makes it oh so vulnerable to it breaking, hence is why some reviewers receive broken combs, but any who!). They're not too heavy but not too light either which makes them really comfortable to use while styling your hair. I did some research and learned that oiling wooden combs before using them will help with keeping them fresh and protected, and I think that definitely worked very well as it also gave the combs a nice sheen. As expected, using these combs to brush through my thick afro 4c hair was such a really lovely experience. No breakage, no snagging, no tugging and pulling, no ouchies, and most importantly, very little to no shed hair! It was the first time I've ever combed my hair where not once did it ever feel like I was combing my hair. It was so smooth and painless, what a difference from using plastic combs that are too damaging over time. I just wish that these combs came in a silk pouch or something, not only for delivery but for storage too, but that's about really the only negative thing I can say. Totally worth the extra money and effort! 4C curly hair types, don't be afraid to take the plunge, wooden combs are it!

This beautiful comb replaces one that I bought as a teen for about 50¢ fifty years ago. At first I didn't like this wood one because it's not as forgiving as my plastic one, and I had to slow down and take care not to break or tear out my hair. Then it hit me - that's the advantage to it! The plastic one encourages me to just rip through it and get 'er done, but this lovely wood comb insists that I take proper care of my hair, which has been thinning as I get older, but maybe now I can keep more hair on my head and pull out less than with my old cheapie plastic comb. And no static! I wish I could have bought this decades ago.

Quality comb for the price. Does not feel flimsy has the right weight to it. Have not used it yet but I’m pretty sure it will do its job well.

So I'm a little excessive and bought the whole set. The ones labeled greenwood smell great (not the incense or perfume sandalwood, more of a natural wood). They do change color (neat to watch). The first comb I received was the basic wide tooth and it was a little light on the scent until I rubbed it a little. All combs are two pieces, the back and the teeth. Not one piece. That might make a difference in the future on how the glue holds but for now the seams are smooth with no exposed glue. I did a scratch test on the red and black combs under the teeth as they didn't smell or only smelled a little. The ones I have are wood under the outer coat. Whether they are actual sandalwood is up for debate. Overall, I love my combs. I have quite fine, fairly long, sometimes curly hair (depends on how I treat it after washing). Great combs. Smooth through my hair.

I am very happy with this purchase. I broke my old acrylic wide tooth comb and needed a new one. Decided to go with an environmentally better choice. I was very surprised by how much better this comb performed for my hair type. I have dry, wavy- curly, thick, fine, shoulder length, salt-n- pepper hair. Did I say dry? Like Sarahara desert dry that tangles and becomes a rat's nest easily. This comb slides through my hair so easily ( I still have to be careful on the snarly ends) and does NOT create that lovely static electricity . I do not end up with a fistful of hair in the comb when I use it. It helps distribute the hair conditioners and oils. I never would have thought that something as simple as the material a comb was made from would have such a dramatic difference in the performance of an everyday hair tool. Quality : Well made, easy to hold, and has a good weight to it. Well worth the price. It is also pretty. I am undecided if a small hole in the end if the handle so that you could hang this on the backside of a cabinet door would be an improvement or not. Wish I made this change years ago. I highly recommend this product!

Love this comb! It doesn't hurt or damage my curls.

I love this comb ! I have 3c/4a hair (heck throw 4b in the mix too) and when I tell you that there's little to no breakage, and the comb itself is very sturdy, and it actually encourages you to be extra careful when detangling. I'm not kidding when I day that, my hair has retained more length.

The comb is exactly like the one shown in the picture. And I believe this is a real green sandalwood comb. I like the smell.

Nice brush. Bought some more as gifts for people with medium to thick hair. I leave the brush in a dry area outside of the shower.
