Caller Id Box for Landline Phone Number Lcd Display with Call Blocker - Stop Unwanted Calls, Robocalls, Spam, Telemarketers

This is very user friendly and intuitive so you don't need to open the manual to learn how to operate it. I like that. I am now able to see who is calling me as the phone is ringing, and the time/date of calls that came when I wasn't here along with the number. Exactly what I needed. It is not backlit, so you can't use it in a dark room, if it is late evening you will need to turn on lamp or light to read it. Which is good for me, because I don't like backlit things glowing in the dark and lighting up the room that I want to be dark sometimes. It's very small so doesn't take up a lot of space (which I also like) I have it currently on a phone without an answering machine. I do have an answering machine in another room, but learned I can't connect it because there is just one telephone jack on my unit. I'd need one with at least two to use it in that room. I'd like to get another for that room, but need to either get a new unit, or preferably, maybe I can find a splitter or something so I can still keep my same answering machine. So I haven't figured that out yet. So just know that if you plan to use it along with your answering machine there needs to be two telephone jack connectors in your answering unit one will go to this caller id and the other out to your telephone. There is a diagram in the included booklet showing this. So if yours only has one like mine does, you are out of luck until you figure out another solution. Another thing you not only see the number of who is calling, but also their name (or sometimes it just says cell phone or something like that if unknown) but you can see if they are calling from a cell phone. So it's helpful for more than just the telephone number. The unit does not talk, only display the information and it does so immediately as the call is coming in.

Update 7/20/2019 I purchased my caller ID in December 2018. It no longer works! At first, it failed to display SOME incoming calls. Now it does nothing--no name, no phone number are displayed. Months ago, it stopped displaying the LED light to alert user to incoming calls. I was informed that the unit is NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. It says a lot about a product when the manufacturer won't warrant a produce even a year. MY ADVICE: Send 10.00 more and get a decent product. This one offers nothing. The print is too small and too weak to easily read. If the entire unit were 1/2" longer and wider, the numbers would be so much easier to read, and the size of the device wouldn't be dramatically changed. My unit sits on my desk, flat. But it is so light that the three wires pull it off the desk. I mounted my unit on a block of wood. Updated Ma:y 12, 2019: Now my unit has stopped working altogether. I have tried resetting it. I've verified all the connections are good. And I have noticed that, although it is LESS THAN A YEAR OLD, it is OUT OF WARRANTY. So I've adjusted my overall rating to ONE STAR. I would have chosen ZERO STARS if it had been possible. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, FOLKS! This unit is junk, and the manufacturer must agree since they offer such a weak warranty,

You can't beat the price...the color is terrible, the cords come out of the top which makes it...weird. I ordered four, I returned three. I have a vintage rotary phone in my bedroom and wanted to be able to see who was calling so it works by my bed. The blinking light is annoying and you have to remember to turn that off all the time...but for a cheap unit it does what it is supposed to do.

This is a product category that doesn't get a lot of attention anymore. There are new call blocker products being offered, but very few simple caller ID boxes. Not too surprising, given that most phones have integrated LCD displays these days. If someone could convince Panasonic that they should put an LED into their base units that would flash for missed calls and digital landline voice mails (stored by the phone company) I wouldn't need a separate caller ID box anymore. There is a lot to like about this little box. It doesn't require batteries. You don't have to set a clock on it. It displays both the number and the name. The LED flashes green when there is a missed call, and red when there is voice mail waiting. (I really, really, like that feature.) It's very reasonably priced. As others have noted, the display is kind of small, and there is no back-lighting. And yellow? Really? The lack of back-lighting is the only thing that kept me from rating it 5 stars, but it didn't keep me from buying another one to have as a spare a few years down the road.

I bought this caller ID box to replace my old caller ID box that was failing after decades of use. The display of the phone number and other information of this new caller ID box is nearly identical to the display of my old one in terms of size, brightness with lack of background lighting, and information given. This identical nature of the display with my old caller ID box made me happy because I was happy with my old one. My old one was powered by 3 AAA batteries. The batteries usually lasted one year. This new one has no batteries. It is plugged in. The pro of no batteries is that it costs less to operate (because you don't have to buy batteries) and there is no risk of a battery leaking and destroying the caller ID box battery grips. The failure of my old caller ID box was due to the prongs that held the batteries becoming bent after years of use and not making a tight enough grip on the batteries to power the ID box. The con of no backup battery (or batteries) is that if there is a power failure, all information would be lost. For me, that is a small con because I would have to remember to check the battery every 6 or so months to be sure it is not leaking. If the battery is not checked for years, it is likely to have leaked and the backup would fail in the event of a power failure. I HAVE ONE COMPLAINT. The product description is incorrect and misleading. The product description says that the caller ID box is 5.6 inches by 4 inches by 1.8 inches. The caller ID box is actually 2.5 inches wide by 3 inches long by 1.25 inches high at the top and 9 sixteenths of an inch high at the bottom (the caller ID box does not lay flat). The dimensions given in the product description are the dimensions of the box in which the caller ID box is shipped. Those given dimensions made me hesitant to buy the product because I would have trouble fitting it into the space available next to my phone. The actual dimensions are very close to the dimensions of my old caller ID box and that made me happy BUT inaccurate and misleading information is bad and wrong.

This is a small ID unit,(approx 3 " X 3 1/2 ") easily connected, but rather difficult to read, not because of it's small size, but because without external light, even in broad daylight, The screen size is approx, 2" X 3/4". The numbers & letters are tiny, and I guess the most important draw back for me, is the fact that attempting to read the print out, is not possible without, in my case, a flashlight. The price is fair, but I would suggest to future potential buyers, units that cost a bit more, but have the advantage of back lighting because having to find an external light source, especially at night time, and fumbling with a light source, makes this product more of a hassle, than the service it's unable to provide. I'll probably end up throwing it away and search for a caller ID that's more user friendly

Simple and easy to set up and use. Mine works fine, been using it for quite some time now. I just wanted a basic caller ID without added features, this was perfect. I like that it plugs in - I had a battery unit, hated recharging or replacing the batteries. Battery types are fine, they work fine either way corded or battery - this is just so much easier for me in the long run. Some of the prices were a bit much for what I wanted, just basic ID, so this was perfect. Couldn't find any other simple basic unit anywhere so I was really happy to find this.

The display is small and very hard to read, even with the contrast at its highest level (5). When reviewing the list of calls, the name of the caller is displayed; however, their phone number is not displayed as most other Caller IDs do. I would probably return it, but the return postage would cost almost as much as the Caller ID. Very disapointed!
