ASE’s Comprehensive Echocardiography

If you're a cardiology fellow learning echo, this is the text to buy. I've seen all of them, and this is clear, complete yet concise, and reference values line up with ASE guidelines so you will learn echo using the most commonly accepted values. All of the alternative standard texts are either too superficial to cover what you need as a cardiologist, or so detailed it's difficult to learn the underlying concept. Is it perfect? No. Has a few typos, but not excessive, and the index could be better. However, this is still the one to buy.

Outstanding review on echocardiography in a modular fashion. Very concise and well delineated. Not as extensive on some subjects as other echo texts but this serves as a quick reference guide on many different topics, and has a stronger emphasis on the ASE guidelines since it is endorsed by them. I would recommend this as either a primary or secondary text for fellows or faculty.

This is a very in depth book with lots of info. I'd say it's definitely written more for (and from) physicians who diagnose and evaluate different pathology. I'm in a cardiac sonography program and our director had us purchase this book to use for class but I find a lot of the information is too intense for what we need to know. Also you can tell the text is written by multiple authors as the writing style and language varies greatly, from simple to doctor lingo. Still a good book though and I think it'll be more useful after I'm done with school and the basics down first.

This book is the authority and the standard of practice. I consult this book every day in my anesthesiology practice.

This is a great resource. I bought it to make sure I was up to date on parameters, etc before taking the adult echocardiography registry- it helped (I could have found what I needed for free online but I did not want to risk it) and I have used it at work since.

a veru detailed text which hits most current topics inechocardiography, the book was in excellent condition as well.

Aufgrund der etwas schwachen Auswahl an deutschsprachigen Echokardiografiebüchern habe ich mir das amerikanische ASE's Comprehensive Echokardiography gekauft. Man erhält für den Preis einen umfangreiches Nachschlagewerk mit sehr guten Abbildungen. Interessant sind auch die Kapitel zu einzelnen Krankheitsbildern und Systemerkrankungen. Für Anfänger (wie mich) ist das Buch als alleiniges Lehrbuch weniger geeignet, da die Einführung insgesamt recht kurz gehalten ist und wenig auf z.B. die korrekte Schallkopfausrichtung eingegangen wird, relativ umfangreich wird auf neuere Techniken wie 3D-Echokardiografie eingegangen. Ein großes Lob gilt der sehr guten Möglichkeit, das Buch auch als ebook mit dem inkling reader auf dem tablet zu Nutzen, hier sind die elektronischen Inhalte (Videos) direkt eingebettet.

O livro é excelente! Atenção para um detalhe : quando for se registrar para acessar os vídeos através do site da editora ( conta no interior do livro um link ) não escolha a opção de lingua: português pq não irá funcionar. Escolha Ingles.

great echo book for me. Also my first choice of all available books. After doing lot of research, I came to conclusion that this is the best book. I felt this book is mother of many books. I strongly recommend this to any beginner as well as an experienced Echocardiograper, either physician or echo technician. Very easy to understand English.
