I was so nervous, but it totally worked!!!
You guys- this stuff really works! My mom has a nineteenth century Danish oil painting that was painted by one of her ancestors. It hung over the fireplace while she was growing up, and by the time she pulled it out of her parents’ storage years later, it was filthy and covered in scratches. Knowing I had a little bit of painting ability, she gave it to me and begged me to fix it. I was really intimidated by this request, but it meant so much to her, so I began researching and came across this product. It arrived quickly, and sat in the box for days before I was brave enough to open it. I followed the directions carefully, and used an old towel to gently blot off the dirt. At first I wasn’t sure if it was working or not- you have to carefully apply and work the cleaning solution until you see it change from white to dirty. That’s when you put the restoring oil on to rinse and revive it. As you can see from the photos, it definitely lifted that dirt! I had the painting clean in an hour or so, and am currently in the process of touching up the scratches. The painting looks so much more colorful and vibrant now! The only warning I have is that this cleaner is capable of removing light varnish. I did not notice any color lifting off of the canvas as I worked, but there were a few spots where I had to touch up faded paint afterwards. Whether or not that is due to the cleaning solution or just to the age of the painting, I do not know, but if you’re not comfortable making a few touch ups on your own, you may consider having your painting cleaned by a professional who is. I am so excited to be able to give this restored painting back to Mom for Christmas!

it's working really well on yellowed oil painting
I thrifted this painting--I thought it would be pretty if I could clean it. This stuff is working well. One photo shows where I just started in the bottom left corner--the snow changing from yellow to white is pretty dramatic. Other photo shows more done on the left side--you can see the sky changing from brown to blue. Instructions are easy to follow. Not included in the kit but needed to do the work-- a brush to apply the restoring oil before & after you clean, a stiff, short bristled brush to dab on the cleanser, and lint-free cotton cloths.

For delicate items should be safe
Not super strong cleaning product, but removed some residue

Exactly what I was looking for…
I do not normally write reviews unless a product knocks my socks off - this one fits the bill! I just received this product via UPS this afternoon and couldn’t wait to try it out. I have been following the directions on the oil product and applied the oil with a brush and the cleaning agent with QTips. I have been working and reworking two small areas of the painting and can see an enormous difference. See my images for the work in progress. Even if it doesn’t remove all of the spots from the painting, it has restored it to more of its original color/has been removing much of the yellow.

Use as directed
I used this product on a 19th century painting. It did a fantastic job. Then I applied it to a corner of a contemporary painting and it lifted the paint right off the canvas.

Work very well
Worked very well. Wish the instructions were more detailed but after a few YouTubes got the hang of it.

Wouldn't put it on anything valiable
This stuff is way to strong to be used on old paintings. It took off much more than the dirt. Beware
