I find it incredible that this actually worked. We have a Yorkie who relentlessly tries to dig holes all around our backyard shed in search of something living beneath it. I’ve attempted to block his access by placing landscape logs, but he’s persistent and has found a way to move the ends of the logs, allowing him to continue digging. The day I laid down these mats, he was extremely curious and cautious. He attempted to place his paw on one of the mats, followed by his other paw, which startled him and caused him to jump back. I’ve observed him every day and night when I let him out, and while he still occasionally runs around the shed a couple of times, he eventually loses interest and goes away. These measures have been a significant relief.

All my babies are now big doggies!!! I have a bad habit of letting them get on the couch with me when they are little, but I have always been able to keep them off my couch once they got bigger!!! My biggest fella is close to 80lbs, and has weighed more than that at times!!! Unfortunately, my last rescue babie has refused to be detoured!!! I was able to keep her off for a while, and then she started all over again to get on my couch!!! It is very important nowadays that she stay off my couch because now I sleep on my couch!!! And her getting on my couch wouldn't be such a big deal, except that when I forget and yell at her to get down, she pees on my bed. Being a rescue, she obviously needs more love and attention than other dogs do!!! And I try NOT to yell at her at all, except when she gets out of the fence, and at that point, I am calling her name looking for her instead of yelling at her. When she does get on my couch, she likes to stick her nose in my big mug of iced tea!!! And she has actually drank some of it, and either vomited it up or spat it out on my couch!!! Before now, all my other babies have gotten down when I told them to get down without peeing, or vomiting on the couch.So, to keep my bed from being peed on, vomited on, or spilled on by my youngest and most determined babie girl puppy doggie, I bought this Cat Scat Mat!!!It works!!! I put the one strip down the middle!!! And at 1st she stayed off of my bed!!! Then she decided to sit on one side of it!!! Unfortunately when I made her get off, she peed on my couch, AGAIN!!!Anyway, I took the extra piece and put it on the one side, and she is staying off my couch as of now!!! So, I am PLEASED!!!Today, she paused looked at the Scat mat lying on top of my bed/couch, and turned and walked on by!!!Hooray!!! I am definitely winning the battle!!!Obviously, when I get my bedroom repaired, I will keep the door closed, but til then, these mats are doing a great job!!!I bought some more mats to put outside in my large pot to keep the neighbor's cats from using it as a place to potty!!! I sure hope they work as well as this has.Thank you to whoever invented these mats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used this along a fence line to keep my dogs from running up to the privacy fence and barking at the neighbors dog. Everyone gets along, but their dog is very strong and has shoved his head through quite a few of the think boards. Until I can get a new fence installed, this keeps the dogs away from the immediate fence area which is helping. I also bought a clicker that emits a supersonic sort of noise that only the dogs can hear so when they do start barking, it scares them away form the fence. I like it so far and I think its effective. I wish it was thicker though, a little taller and a little wider would be great since I have large dogs. Its not insanely durable which is the reason for the four stars - after stepping on it on accident with my shoes, a couple of the spikes broke off and then when I was repositioning it, it snapped in a few places. Would certainly work for cats too to keep them off of a couch or a counter but for now it is keeping my large dogs away from the fence.

I've ordered this products (both in black and white) multiple times for almost a year now. It definitely deters cats from your furniture, pots, etc. The spikes are sharp enough for the cats to stay aways. If you need this product for indoor use only, then you're in luck stop looking this is it for you. However, if you're using it outside, then it's different story. We have stray cats in the neighborhood and unfortunately my next-door neighbor feeds them so they come to my house to lounge and take a siesta on my furniture. They completely ruined my outdoor cushions (which I had to replace) and my allergies were having a field day. I laid this product on top off all my chairs, couches, etc. outside, I even zip tied it to fence and gate and finally the cats got the message - "stay away". It's been almost a year and I don't see any trace of the cats in my garden. I would give this mat 10 stars from that prospective. However, the mat doesn't last outdoors at least not in part sun (maybe it will with full shade outdoor). The plastic becomes brittle and falls apart after about 1 month or so outside. I'm constantly buying batches to replace the brittle one, hence the lower rating. I wish love the manufacturer finds a solution.

I bought 2 of these to create a perimeter for a herb garden. Railroad ties form the perimeter of the garden. I attached these deterrents to the tops of the railroad ties. Within the first hour, one of our cats hopped up and walked right across this deterrent.
