Hand Crafted Bread Lame with 5 Blades Included by Aeaker (Leather Protective Cover A)

I used to slash my loaves with a freshly sharpened knife, but this blade is better in most ways. Because it uses a disposable blade, I can now avoid excessive sharpening of my kitchen knives. Since the razor blade, when mounted on the shaft, is slightly curved, the gesture needed for a good cut is different from a straight knife, but I am finding that I am improving with practice. The handle has good length & weight. It seems utilitarian and not especially robust, but I think it will be adequate for the job. The little protective sleeve for the blade is a good idea.

First lame after baking bread for many, many years and using knives to score pre-bake. This tool functions well and I like the leather protective cap. Reasonably priced and decent quality. Use it for my weekly bread baking.

I selected this item, because it has a nice wood handle like similar items but was much cheaper for what you get. I appreciate that it came with extra blades. Putting the blade into the tool for the first time was pretty intimidating, because I did not want to cut myself, but I managed. I'm glad it has the cover to protect me and the tool. It works as expected for scoring bread dough.

Works fairly well, seems like with some scores the blade moves beautifully and others it catches a little. Could be my novice technique though.

So much much easier than using a paring knife or “bare” razor to score my loaves, and much nicer in the hand compared to the plastic models I’ve used.

Does the job. Nice leather cover for the blade. Easy to load the blade.

Doesn’t work that great, went back using a utility razor
