Easy to thread onto other pipe without any leakage. But the valve itself leaks badly. I used it at the end of a fire hose hookup with a cap on it so the leak was stopped by the cap. So not really a problem for my setup but would not work for a situation where you would need to depend on the valve for complete shut off of water. I think the valve I received was possibly just a rare defective valve but like I said, it worked for my situation. Edit: I'm now giving this valve 5 stars. I removed the handle and rotated the valve several times. There must have been something caught up in the valve. I did not flush the line to clear any debris that may have been in the line as suggested in installation instructions. My fault for being in a hurry. The valve works perfectly!

Fake stainless steel
So pissed. This ball valve arrived sprayed in a sticky silver spray paint and I tested it with a magnet and it’s DEFINITELY NOT 316 stainless steel. One part of the body and the handle might be 304 because it’s less magnetic but the ball and the rest of the valve certainly have magnetic properties. What a disappointment. Do not buy this garbage for marine applications. The npt threading is so overcut, my barb fittings screw on by hand and bottom out and still have play.

Buy once cry once
I was tired of replacing PVC and brass valves on the ranch. These are holding up sooo much better.

leverage required
you'll need some leverage... holy cow. they do close, contrary to some reviews... but they need to be torn down and lubricated if you want smooth operation.

These are cheap, they don't last forever but at the price point they're disposable. I use them in a salt water system, they tend to last a year or 2 and the stems will break. As long as the price stays low i'll continue to use them and replace them.
