Big flies & large insects may escape due to insufficient suction of the fan. Please consider carefully before purchasing.

It actually works, but...
I got this because I wanted to catch the abundance of house flies that I have, plus other annoying insects. My pics show the trappings after 1 day, then 3 days later. It's definitely catching insects but not the house flies.I was actually skeptical that this would work at all, but it actually does. It doesn't seem to catch anything during the day, but it does have a night mode so it turns on only when the lights are off. That's when it seems to work best. So even though it didn't work for house flies that seem to primarily exist during the day, it still does a great job at catching other little annoying pests in our kitchen. Also, the fan is actually quite loud so it's best to use the night mode so it only runs at night when the lights are off and you aren't near it.

Amazingly Effective
This little sucker was a lifesaver! Given NC weather and oh so lush variety of critters, fruit flies zip in just about every time we open the door. We had a major fruit fly and gnat infestation after they hatched in a drain and we have several small pets, so spraying or bombing wasn't a viable option. The first night, my husband plugged it up in the room with his ferrets (who can be stinky even though their cages are cleaned) and closed the door. In the morning, the sticky paper was COVERED with little corpses. We moved it to a couple of different locations and it continued sucking them in. This trap did a FANTASTIC job helping us get rid of the little winged demons. Now anytime we see unwanted critters fly in, we plug it up and let it run overnight in our hallway. It's small enough to sit against the wall and light enough to shove in a closet or whatever when not in use. This was worth every penny and I would definitely buy another one.

Follow instructions exactly!
This ONLY works if the directions are followed exactly, which makes it a little inconvenient. It doesn’t work during the day like a regular outdoor bug zapper. I kept mine on all day and not a single bug was on the sticky sheet. There can’t be any other light source or fan in the room- that’s the confusing part— if it has an option to use a USB port on a laptop as a power source, isn’t that another light? Moths were still flying at my laptop screen so I had to plug in into a wall. Long story short, this will only work in pitch black darkness plugged into a wall... so when you’re sleeping... but then it’s also super loud... but it does work!!!

Does a fair job of catching gnats....but will not wipe them out.
I purchased this device b/c I started to get gnats in my home and it became a problem. After arriving I put in the sticky paper and to my surprise it started catching gnats. However, after a few days I would have thought the problem would have been eliminated. But to my surprise the gnats kept multiplying. I seen gnats fly around the unit and they did not get sucked in, so the fan could be more powerful for one. The light that comes with the unit does not attract the gnats more than what I would have thought. I puzzled why this is. I do know that there is a fare share of gnats that this unit caught, but cannot explain why the gnat population has not be either eliminated or curbed. So I am willing to see if there is a better unit out there that will wipe out my gnats or eliminate them. B/C this did not do the job all I can say is winter can come any sooner.

Very lightweight, easy to clean
It is very stylish mosquito/insect catcher and it is pretty silent as well. With the help of the sticky pad, it helps to keep the insects that are trapped inside the unit. It does help with keeping them off our legs when we are outside, particularly as it gets closer to the end of the day and the sun is setting, which is when they seem to start showing up.You will need to eventually get more sticky pads as they will need to be removed eventually. I am kind of stickler for insect clean up, which I am not a fan of, so you will eventually need to clean the unit and remove the sticky pad to replace it.

Undersized
This thing did not work. 4 days and no mosquito. I’ve tried different rooms, different locations, night, day, never stopped running up my electric bill with no results. My dad has another larger type of catch like this and is why I bought mine buy totally undersized and shit results. Still getting bit 5 feet from where this thing is working. Don’t waste your money.

Don’t waste your money.
I bought this because I live in bug kingdom aka Florida where you get random bugs flying into your home whenever you open the door for 2.5 seconds. I left this thing on for a full week and I didn’t catch a single fruit fly, mosquito or any other flying insect. It literally just used electricity. It’s also not battery powered which I should have read prior to purchasing and it only comes with the wire but no the plug to connect it.

Not effective for fruit flies
I ordered this unit to combat a fruit fly situation in my kitchen and after reading reviews looked forward to dispatching those little buggers to their final reward. When I got the unit I placed it according to instructions but the fruit flies were totally unaffected by it and not a single fruit fly wa captured by the unit. I returned it for credit. Seek elsewhere for a fruit fly remedy.
