Great upgrade from Moto Z Droid, a great $500 phone.
Great phone overall, coming from a Moto Z Droid. If you are from Verizon or use straight talk this review is mostly for you.I purchased this after my Moto Z Droid started to get a little sluggish with newer apps. I had originally purchased the Moto Z Droid from Verizon (The only network available where I work) 3 years ago and have spent the last year using it with straight talk for half the price as with Verizon. I had previously purchased the Verizon sim from straight talk and used it in my Moto Z, and was I bit concerned with how the process would work with this phone. I simply removed the sim from my Moto Z and placed it in the Moto Z4 and it worked instantly and currently I have zero issues! This phone is $500. It performs at my expectations for the price. I considered a pixel 3, or a Samsung, but opted to stick with the Moto line again for this upgrade and thankfully at a $300 cheaper price. A major factor in purchasing this phone was its compatibility with the moto mods I currently own, and the price. The camera works much better than my Z and I am completely satisfied with the photos out of the box (although there are many options to customize your camera settings) , its clearly three generations ahead of the Z in processing power and have had no issues with anything that used to bog down my Z. The addition of the headphone jack is welcome, although with the ZI begrudgingly went Bluetooth for most tings so its not as big a deal having it for me now. My best recommendation, if you have a Z, Zforce, Zplay or Z2 this phone will be a welcome upgrade and give your mods a little longer life.

Good Screen, Camera and Moto Mods

These arephysical components which magnetically snap on to back of the phone. These inexpensive "Mods" have been produced since 2016 and can be foundin abundance. Some are incredibly useful, likedoubling your battery life, or powerful stereo speakers. Some are prettyfrivolous, like having an oak veneer on the back of your phone. Manyfall in-between, like having a 360° camera, or a camera with a 10xoptical zoom, or permitting wireless charging or 5G network connections.Because of it's display and camera, this phone is a great value withoutconsidering Moto Mods. With Moto Mods, it's a killer value.

Love the Z line, but this is the first one with which I am not overly happy
I bought the Z2 Force and Z3 and even gotten other models for my family members. When the Z4 came out, I was excited about the in-screen fingerprint scanner. I got a device for my wife first and after playing with it, I decided to wait. The finger print scanner was spotty in performance. After thinking about it, I decided to try again, but instead of pressing hard like I do with Z2 and Z3, I decided to do a lighter touch. That did the trick and I was able to use the finger print scanner which is so central to my daily activities. My wife has been using the facial recognition and that has worked great for her.Batterylife - 5 - Great battery life. Bought the Turbo Charging battery because I am a power user though.Finger Print Reader - 3 - Can he a hit and miss, but it will read. I ended up adding four fingers to make sure it can be read.Face recognition - 5. Wife is using this and has had no issues.Storage - 5. 128 GB is great for space. I added a memory chip because I like to load up on audiobooks and more.Responsiveness - 4 - Most things seem to be working well, but I am seeing WAY too many pauses and issues with answering calls and with Audible. The hesitations are up to 5 seconds, which is ridiculous. At times, I have to turn off the screen and turn it back on to get it to respond - I see this while trying to answer some calls.I still love the Moto brand and the Z line though and would definitely get another.

the best Motorola Phone ever
it's the best Motorola phone I've ever had in my hands. Perfect build quality, very fast, loading the phone and applications is many times higher than in previous models, a fantastic display, an excellent speaker, a well-functioning fingerprint scanner, built into the display. What doesn’t really work out and what I had to finish with my own hands:1. micro lags on the stock launcher and opening application folders. No fix at the moment, maybe it will be fixed with upcoming updates or install different launcher.2. Moto Style shells do not fit the phone, due to the rounding of the edges of the phone.Solution:.Using sandpaper, grind the edges of Moto Dtyle shell up to 1 mm and stick on a decorative self-adhesive film. Easy to remake the Moto Style shell nylon.Result in photos.

Best Motorola phone I've owned so far
Shipping was fast. Needed an up dated phone and this was my choice because of the large storage, camera features, also love the 360° mod camera that came with it, the 360° mod is great for realtors to use for web images of houses on market or anyone who loves to post photos of great scenery in general. the battery last much longer than any of my previous Motorola phones. And it has fast processing. The screen is also much larger than my previous Motorolas. And I love the ease of use with every Motorola I've owned.
