Pro Boat Shockwave 26-inch BL Deep-V RTR RC Boat

Impressive boat, nice enough components, but terrible build quality. First run had a drive shaft fall out (in under 30 seconds), second had prop rattle off. I returned that boat to Amazon, got another and immediately fully disasymbled and properly re-asymbled. I found lots of loose fasteners, misaligned parts, and poor glue jobs. So far so good on second boat, it's crazy fast for me and lots of fun. Basically would be great if either it was built properly from the start OR came as a box of loose parts.

Typical of other Pro Boats, well made, and engineered. It is very fast, but smooth. Handles a variety of water conditions, from small ponds to large lakes. It is a good looking boat, the paint and graphics really pop. It is a very good value. It is a nice combination of style, speed, size and value.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOAT! I did, and within 4 minutes, the drive shaft was wobbling inside the shaft tube. Yes, I pre greased the drive shaft prior to ever putting the boat in the water. I have been back and forth with Horizon Hobby and their "service department" about this flaw. They sent me a new hull, drive shaft, etc so I could spend time working on a brand new boat????? Not my job. I also have a RECOIL 26. The shaft doesn't wobble because the strut has a brass bushing as a wear item. The Shockwave strut does not, therefore, the stainless steel shaft EATS the inside of the aluminum strut. Buyer beware!!!! If you want a fun boat, I am happy with my Recoil 26. After robbing the strut from my Recoil 26 as a test, this boat performs well, but I shouldn't have to reengineer a brand new toy, nor argue with customer service.

New prop shaft, new prop, 120 amp ESC, some 6s loops and now it jumps out of the water under hard acceleration. Yes!!

The boat is very nice and well put together, however the flex shaft is a bit short and the factory coupler wouldn't even tighten down on the shaft. I had to by parts before I could use it..you would think a company such as proboat would have better quality control. Otherwise the boat performs good but I give it 3 stars because I had to modify a supposed to be rtr boat

Loving this boat! Make sure you grease the driveshaft before first use I did and it helps! Super fast and very stable! Highly recommended

Nice boat but i've had some issues. First off I should have greased the drive shaft prior to my first run. One minute into my 2nd pack it began to make a terrible noise from the drive strut due to lack of grease. I took it home and regreased the shaft. Upon retightening the drive shaft coupler at the motor it completely bottomed out and would not tighten enough to hold the shaft. While inspecting the hex screws that secured the motor I also noticed they were stripped out, from the factory. Needless to say I was a bit annoyed. I know like most everything these boats are made in china but I'd hope those kinds of things would not have gone overlooked. I contacted proboat's service department and informed them my issues, and within a few days i was sent a new drive cable, coupler and hardware to replace the damaged motor fasteners. Since then the boat has given me no issues on 2s. Throttle response is good and it handles well at speed. Although I have noticed the drive strut is beginning to wear oblong after about an hours worth of run time between 4 separate trips every one of them with the cable greased with the marine grease after each trip. Not sure what kind of future issues that might cause but I was assured by the service rep and the guy at the hobby store that proboat has had very few issues with the shockwave, maybe it's just my luck. Can't wait to see what it'll do on 3s. Update: I called the service reps at horrizon about the drive strut ans they are sending me a replacement drive strut and cable. Been very happy with their customer service.

Love it great every boat hobby grade boat I would recommend greasing the driveshaft right away or the shaft could brake just get any marina grease and use on 3s lipo way faster but make sure it 50c or 100c no lower will go vary slow and also don’t be folded by the stupid people that say it’s junk and it’s sinking you just have to make sure to tape the top of the boat befor every use like all hobby grade boats

First run in the water it just about sunk.... if it wasn't for the foam inside it would have been on the bottom of the pond. Lol. junk
