Just For Pets Pet Safe Weed Killer - 1 Gallon (128 oz) w/Sprayer

***How to fix the sprayer and get it to work until the container is empty*** Like a number of people, I was having trouble with the sprayer included, so I messaged the Just for Pets support folks, and this was the advice I got (and it worked): 1) Take the plastic filter off the very end of the tube. It just pops right off. Throw it away, it does nothing but impede the flow of the weed killer. 2) Adjust the length of the tub that is in the bottle. When you first open the sprayer, a much longer portion of the tub than is needed is below the cap level. This is bad. You want the tube to be just as long as the carton is tall. No longer, no shorter. So measure out the tube from the end and move the little white place holder thing so that when the tube is in the carton it's only as long as the carton is tall. That's it. Once you've made these two adjustments I found the sprayer works from start to finish with the only hiccup being once I was basically at the end of the carton, but then you just have to tilt the carton towards one corner and you'll get the last few sprays of weed killer before it's completely empty. ***Does it work?*** Yes, yes it does. And not just on small little weed patches. Our backyard was SERIOUSLY overgrown with weeds 2-4 feet tall in patches multiple feet long by multiple feet wide. It took about 4 cartons (this carton with the sprayer included and then the refill pack with 4 of these cartons), but we killed it all off using nothing but this spray. It took about 3 rounds of spraying for the really tall weeds: 1) First Spray. 2) Check for progress in a day or two. 3) Second Spray for the remaining green leaves 4) Check for progress in a day or two. 5) Third, and typically final spray, for the last remaining vestiges of green on the weeds just so they couldn't absorb anymore nutrients and regrow. 6) Let the weeds fully wither and die. Granted, our backyard now looked like Ursula's sea cave with all those creepy gray sad creatures poking up from the ground, but at least we didn't have waist-high weeds anymore. This stuff is effective, it just takes a little bit more effort than glyphosate alternatives, but not risking our pups' safety was a major concern so it was worth it. ***The Smell*** Yes, while you're spraying you will absolutely notice that it smells strongly of vinegar (because, well, it contains a fair bit of it), the smell doesn't linger once it dries though. ***Overall Value*** It might not feel like a lot of weed killer in each carton, but we found each carton actually covered a surprising amount of ground and height. If I had to guess you get about 100-150 trigger pulls with full blasts of weed killer. That may be an underestimation though since, with our weeds as tall as they were, we were just going a bit nuts with rapid fire to speed the process along and make sure everything was nice and covered.

Finally a pet friendly weed killer that works!! My patio was growing weeds and I was lazy to control it. My dogs and I spend a lot of time outside so I didn’t want to keep them from going out for a day or more for a chemical weed killer. I decided to give this product a try and am thoroughly impressed. Within 3 hours the weeds were looking almost dead. By 20 hours, they were dead. The product gave off a scent of vinegar and clove and did slightly linger for a day (I had a lot of weeds and used half the bottle.) I like that once this product is dry, it’s safe for the pets. I was still cautious and waited longer. I may be over protective with my fur babies. This product will kill grass and plants too so be careful where you spray it. I totally recommend this and will purchase again.

Bought this product because it is advertised as safe around pets and safe to spray around trees. I sprained in mid April 2026 my backyard and my 10 year old maple tree lost its leaves and the 10 year old magnolia tree the leaves turned dull and stopped producing leaves. The Maple did seem to try to produce new leaves, but they were stunted. I contacted the number on the container and explained what happened and the lady denied that there was not anything in the product that would kill any tree. I sent a picture of a limb of the maple tree with it trying to bud out to the university here in Huntsville AL and they said it was a chemical toxic poisoning that has killed the tree and extremely unlikely that it would recover. This company is the only chemical I have used on my yard, so there is zero excuse to deny it was not their product. NO, I would not ever buy or recommend this product or company! I would give this product a zero if it was a choice.

This product helped me rest easy, knowing that it was non toxic to my children and pets! It worked almost instantly, within a few minutes the weeds began to wilt. It was super helpful right in time for our Fourth of July party, the weeds were easy to pull and scrape away the very next day. As far as the longevity of this product, I have not seen the weeds grow back for about a week. However, I have been proactive by reapplying every several days just re-spraying the area and it’s been weed free and keeping my garden under control, so I would say the product keeps weeds away for a decent amount of time depending on the weather. I would have given it five stars, however, the spray nozzle leaked a bit would back up frequently, making it not easy to use as much as a typical battery operated spray head (similar to the spray mechanism that Roundup has). Other than that, this product was great and priced fairly. I will be definitely purchasing again in the future.

With this wet weather here the weeds just got out of hand! My yard needed serious help! Most important was the affect on my dog. I searched for something PET SAFE and kills weeds. I've ordered this 3 times in past month (my yard was horrible) and am so happy with the results! My dog is safe being in the yard and the jungle is disappearing, so its a win win situation. The weeds are dying fast! They start to swivel up immediately and turn brown. It does have an odor but not enough to discourage use. The end results are worth it! This is best weed killer we've used and my dog is safe to be in the yard after use. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT - IT WORKS!

It’s good news and bad news. It did kill the weeds and other items. The English Ivy that wa s still le@ es not so well. But the shoots from where I mowed it those appear to be dying. So regular weeds etc., good product. The waxy IVY leaves didn’t absorb it. I would buy it again for regular grass and weeds.

This product is great. It works in a few hours or overnight. I like that it is pet safe as we have a dog that plays in the yard. Very happy with this product

As someone who isn't as spry as I used to be, I really let my strawberry patch get overrun with grass last year. I dreaded the thought of pulling it all by hand, so I looked for a solution that wouldn't harm my strawberry plants. I’m happy to report that this weed (Grass) killer worked perfectly. It gave me peace of mind knowing it was safe for my two dogs and cats, which was a major priority for me, as they often disregarded the parameters I had set for my strawberry patch. While it was a bit more expensive than I initially wanted to spend, it was well worth the investment for the results. The only minor drawback is the bottle design: the fluid tends to leak if you shake it too vigorously, and it has a spray handle, which makes it easier to locate than a spray bottle. So you have to be gentle during mixing. Overall, a great product that I would recommend.
