7W PLS 2 Pin G23 UV-C Bulb Germicidal UV Lamp for Pond Filter UVC Algae Destroyer High Performance Quartz

I bought a pair of these bulbs to replace the one in the filter that was almost a year old so was due for replacement even though the water was still crystal clear. I put the first one in and within 4 days the water had started to go green then after a week it was noticeably worse.I thought that the new bulb must be faulty or damaged in the post so I put the 2nd one in and after another 4 days I could not even see the bottom of the pond so I put the original one back and hey presto within 5 days the water was starting to clear nicely so I have left it in and have now just purchased another new one but this time from my local pond suppliers so fingers crossed this will be better.

I couldn’t get either to work, it maybe to do with me and how I fitted them, I don’t know. Both binned. So rather than go cheap again I went back to the pond pump I had purchased for my pond last year, and bought the upvc lamp recommended by them as a replacement for that pump, that arrived which I fitted and it worked.I do know you have to take care fitting uvc lamps, which makes it difficult to know if it’s your fitting or the lamp that’s at fault.

Bought these because I thought the would last, both failed after 3 month, the supplier responded to say they only expect them to last 6 month. Will not be buying from them anymore.

I wrongly ordered this product which was too large for my filter, however I sold the products on to family members who installed successfully and report all ok

My pond has two pressure filters fitted with integral UV bulbs which I usually replace when the water starts to go greenish or in the spring. These bulbs have been in for a number of weeks now but my water is growing greener by the day.

Great price and effective - got my pond clear within the week where the usual pond additives - sludge/pond/bomb clears, had not worked on their own - highly recommend
