Works fine, handy to have a flashlight that doesn't requiire batteries.
Product works as advertised. We're in a semi-rural area and the power goes out regularly so it's handy to have light that doesn't require a steady supply of disposable batteries. The USB port that allows charging of the batteries is the older mini-USB style, not micro-USB. I have lots of mini-USB cables around, so that's no problem at all. Seems to hold a charge just fine, too.

A Great Idea But a Non-Starter
I bought this thinking it would be a great resource in emergencies. The box says '3 Ways to Charge' USB, Hand Crank and Solar. I got the product home and started looking at it- I found the port for the adapter and looked through the ones I had-none fit. I then looked on Freeplay's website and found no adapter listed as a product to buy, I also looked for the Solar panel but their website said this was only available in the UK. I went on Amazon and saw the link to an adapter that Freeplay's website said would fit, but when I attempted to go to that website the website was no longer available. So, I have this lantern with the only way to power it is by the hand-crank. This is not at all what I thought I was purchasing. I sent an email to the Freeplay website customer service over two weeks ago- have yet to get a reply. I am returning this product. It is effectively useless for my purposes.

love mine
I have had mine for about a year now and i love it. runs for days of a full charge. I don't go on a camping trip without it. It's bright enough to light up the whole tent, I loved that it dims. I brought mine into radio shack and they had a charger that fit it.
