When you buy this unit, you get part of a camera system but not all of the necessary pieces. The camera itself is fine. I have owned a couple of these through the years, and they are easy to use. They take reasonably good pictures too. All operate the same way, so I have had no transition issues. Before buying this thing, I caught the idea that I needed to buy a separate memory card and that I would have to come up with my own camera case too. We are all used to manufacturers "going cheap" on products and not including everything you need. I had no serious problem with that. What got me, however, was that, after taking pictures on vacation, I realized that there was no USB cord included with the camera to use to connect the camera to my laptop. This meant that I could not transfer the pictures to my computer unless I placed another Amazon order and waited for delivery. This was especially disturbing since I wanted to give the pictures to departing guests but ran out of time since I could not even transfer the pictures to my computer. I would have gladly paid a few more bucks to get a memory card and a USB cord. I mean, I thought I was buying a workable camera unit and not merely most (but not all) of the major components of one. It is obvious that a manufacturer's reputation does not always benefit from "going cheap" when it degrades the overall brand and customer experience.

I bought this camera for my mother, who recently became a first time grandma. As you can imagine, lots of pictures have been taken on this camera. While searching for the perfect point and shoot camera, I really had to find something for a person who has difficulty with complicated technological things. She used to have a Samsung camera that had lots of different settings and features, which was nice but just not for my mom. I always like Canon for myself and find this inexpensive awesome camera. It was easy to set up and my mom loves using it. She just keeps it on an auto setting and just has to know how to turn it on, take picture, use flash, turn it off. She always has this camera with her. It is very compact and could easily fit in a pocket of purse. My mom has been using this camera since around January, so over 3 months and it has not had any problems thus far. I was also support satisfied about the deal that came with the memory card also! I'm a loyal and long time Canon user, so I'm not happy about having to do such a low-scored review. But this camera is not worthy of the Canon name. I purchased it to use for an event at work where people would be getting dressed up in various costumes and themes for the week - figuring it was an entry-level Canon camera, I thought it would do the job for most novice camera users, and provide adequate images for what we were doing. I was wrong. After taking a few shots, it would stop focusing properly, requiring the user to power the camera off and then back on again, and then we could do 5-10 photos and then shots would be out of focus again. I am a professional motorsports photographer, so I can say that it was NOT user error - the camera was being held steady, trying to get the camera to focus on the subject in the shot - there was adequate lighting, and the subjects were not moving. Even the shots that did focus properly were very poor quality, very grainy, and the flash did not provide even lighting, even at a distance of just 8-10 feet. Sent this camera back for a refund, and very disappointed

I was looking to upgrade my camera for years and finally had a chance. The UI is pretty simple to use and the focus is amazing for a small camera. The overall physical design is really nice. The red definitely was a good choice for me. It wasn't too bright and not too dark. Although beware that the material is fairly easy to scratch. The button is pretty sensitive making it easy to take picture. The 720p videos are great and they come out exactly how I wanted it. Overall I really like this camera. The picture quality is amazing and it is very portable and light! Highly recommended

I love it!!!! Once I transfer the photos to my phone, you can really see how good they look! Great starter camera and travel camera. Wasn’t looking for anything too fancy or “professional” like. It was meant for fun, travel and selfies. Not sure about battery life yet but hopefully it holds up!

I purchased the Elf to give as a gift. So that the recipient would have it up ready to go I opened up the box and first discovery was it DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY MEMORY CARD. Most likely this information is written up in the product details.... somewhere... anyway I missed that. Happily I had time to order a chip and Amazon got it to me almost overnight. Next step to making the gift instant gratification was charging up the battery. The battery charger is just as compact as the camera and the battery as is charged completely in just under 2 hours. Not too bad. The trouble I had was getting the battery properly seated in the camera. I imagine that with use this will become easier. I am mentioning this so that any that follow will think to TRY TRY AGAIN in reseating the seemingly well seated battery until the bugger actually works. Took me 3 attempts so could have just been me but perhaps not.... So I give the gift and instant gratification went into play right away at a children's birthday party at the local Pirate Dinner Theater. The flash worked very well. The very small size (smaller than a pack of smokes) made it easy to stash the phone when fending off pirates. The zoom really is pretty amazing for such a tiny camera. Really can't beat this for a $100. Super Duper snapshot camera.

Cute and great quality. Compact size, battery life is amazing. Kids love it over there iPhone.

muy buena camara, a un MUY buen precio. llegó antes de lo esperado, y cumplió con todas mis expectativas, facil de usar y toma muy buenas fotos. si la vas a comprar, o cualquier otra camara, recominedo tambien comprar una buena tarjeta de memoria para que no les falte espacio y tomen todas las fotos que quieran.

This camera is actually very good for the price, it's durable and can take fabulous photos in the *right* kind of light. It requires someone to know how to capture a good photo, as when light conditions are poorer it tends to downgrade in quality. The pictures can be fuzzy in low lit areas, so I would consider this perfect for someone who is 1. learning or 2. shooting outside or in lighter environments. Many reviews that photo quality in this camera tends to not be the greatest, but fixing this small factor can come down to to selecting proper lighting, scenery etc. As someone who doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a camera, and is still not to learn the tips and tricks. This camera is perfect and very great at it's current price. On top of this it's also durable, has a great battery and is also very easy to navigate and use. I have many important events during the summer and I trust this camera is going to able to churn out amazing photos What it does lack though is 1. image stabilisation and 2. wi-fi feature. If you are searching for this features I would recommended getting the slight more expensive Canon PowerShot Elph 170 IS (Black) , which possess both of these features. So if you're looking to learn and can play around with settings and environments this camera is perfect, if you want something able to withstand darker environments you may have to search further.

Es curiosa la enorme variacion del precio de un articulo por el color del mismo. La oferta fue muy buena y el servicio de envio fue de primera, porque lo pedi un domingo en la noche y me llego el martes potr la tarde. Estuve practicando con la camara y es muy facil de usar ademas que las imagenes que fotografia son muy nitidas.

Wonderful. Everything that I needed. Easy to use. Great pictures. Just plug your wire and download all your photos to your computer. Couldn't ask for more.
