Great! Would not recommend if you are 0-8 though…
A big wow for R.L Stine's effort!Notes/Summary:Billy -- who has a great imagination, gets to ride on a mini sub, thanks to his uncle, Dr. D.Dr. D is a scientist if you guessed, he doesn't believe in old myths. But, an old legend says: A pirate ship disappeared into dark clouds. Which trapped Captain Ben --- who was awfully evil. If you asked me how evil… Whenever his men did something he did not like he put his men into a cage full of hangry rats. After he forced his man to go into there, he would see what lunch the rats made with the men. Sometimes he would force a man to enterthe rat cage just for entertainment. People believe that the darkness made the pirate ship sank because of Captain Ben's evilness. (sadly, innocent mens died with him) It says they are not ghosts but zombies!!!Dr. D disappears and the mini sub sank under the ocean too. Sheena and Billy finds the sunken pirate ship!!! They see a hideous sight, zombies! They get trapped in a island but turns out the zombie pirates followed them! They manage to escape by running and throwing a wooden stick at captain ben until they meet photographers, they try to explain but they dont understand. When Sheena and Billy finally tells them about the old legend they understand and ask if you are really telling the truth. They eventually tell them too many details and makes a deal. They say they want to take photographs of the sunken ship they found earlier. When they go inside the ocean they find guns and pistols inside their backpacks. Soon they discover that they are skeletons too! The treasure that was inside the sunken ship turns out to be theirs! They get killed eventually, but when captain ben wants his treasure it turns out to be the stick! His lost leg! When Billy asks if he was going to return his uncle Dr. D, captain ben says no so Billy aims the stick (captain ben's leg) and gets back to safety…This book was awesome!!! @_@When the book ends readers would wish the story went on and on…Love it but doesn't recommend if you are young! >_<

Goosebumps in General
My son who is developmentally delayed and 10 yrs old, hates reading but loves the Goosebumps books. He's picky about the ones he reads cause some of them do scare him. He reviews them at the library at school and them comes home with the ones he wants to read. My 25 yr old when he was younger, loved them too. As a mom of 9 kids, and an avid reader, they wouldn't be my choice but I would prefer they read these over nothing.

Fun book for children
My 12 year old granddaughter loves all the Goosebumps books. She's read all of them. My 8 year old granddaughter started reading them and she said they were to hard to understand. I would recommend them to children age 10 and up.
