Language Arts: Grade 1 (Flash Kids Harcourt Family Learning)

My Granddaughter who is in 1st grade loves to play school. Sooooo I use real School Books to play School with her. She is constantly learning and doesn't even realize it - She just thinks that I am the best NANA in the world because I am so willing to play school with her.

I used this to teach ESL.

I am impressed. We recently started homeschooling and the curriculum we went with is so behind the standards in our state. With coming close to end of grade testing I wanted to make sure my son is ready. And this book will do just that. We will use these next school year as well. One book will not suffice a whole school year but combined with another workbook it will keep them caught up and where they need to be.

This is my second purchase of this book. I bought it first for my older child when she was in Kindergarten to prepare her for first grade, and now I'm buying a second one for my younger child. The triple lines on every page helped my children practice writing. It is also very affordable and covers everything from grammar to writing.

My 6 year old daughter ( Kindergarte) just finished it.. It's well laid out, age appropriate, very good quality. I would highly recommend it !

I just received this book and it looks like it has decent exercises for Language Arts. As a teacher it bothers me that it doesn’t use correct terminology. Instead of subject they say “naming part” Predicate is referred to as “telling part.” Nouns are sometimes called nouns and sometimes called “naming words.” I don’t understand what is gained by using incorrect terminology. A first grader can handle the proper terms.

This book is AMAZING! I purchased this for my daughter who is in grade 1 and she enjoys working in it. I will definitely be investing in other subjects by this company.
