Body Sport Foam Rollers

The Body Sport Foam Roller has become an indispensable part of my fitness routine. I lie on this for ten minutes a day and my back loves it. Place this on a mat on the floor, align your spine with it and simply lie on it for ten minutes a day and feel the improvement in your back. That gentle pressure down the middle of your back actually alieviates all of my aches and pains and I also notice I have better posture lately. This isn't very comfortable while you are actually on it, and your arms and the rest of your back that isn't touching this feel awkward, and you feel the pressure of this, but once you stop it feels so good. This is like a gentle massage down the middle of your back, with your body weight making you sink in around this, and some pretty intense pressure along the spine area. The nerves and ligaments as they come out of the sides of your vertebrae are stretched by having this pressing along your spine. That kind of stretching is something you just can't get any other way. This is excellent and an important tool in my arsenal of feel good body implements.

Overall, I like this. It's long enough that I can lie down with it under my spine and gently roll from side-to-side to massage my back, loosen the muscles. I like that it is flat on the bottom so it doesn't roll away. It gives me good control over my motions when using it. I also like that it is firm but not too stiff where it would cause pain. It gives enough that it helps me create pressure slowly, in a measured way, on spots that need it. My only complaint is that it isn't very tall, so it isn't particularly useful on my neck like a full foam roller would be. It's not as versatile as a full cylinder foam roller, but the trade off is better control.

White foam rollers aren’t as firm as the black or cork ones. Sometimes I don’t want too much pressure when I do fascia rollouts, so I bought this white one. Good size for smaller areas of the body.

Best for upper back. Long enough to lie on it parallel to your spine to get that hard to reach upper back. Just as good as expense half foam rollers. Get the softest you can find. PT relative recommended this.

As a person with history of a car accident, and a long lasted rehabilitation, I highly recommend this foam roller. It has saved me much time and money (since I bought it, exercises and the roll was enough to postpone otherwise necessary visits to my physical therapist). It may take a few minutes to get used to new sensations, and first few days (in my case) may leave you with a feeling of being run over by a dancing tribe, but it rather pleasantly-feverish sensation in the whole body, which never comes back again. Use it every day or several times per week - it will make a difference - pain reduces, body feels light-weighted and energized. It is also a great retreat for the whole body before/after workouts, long walks, long sitting, any sort of activity or stagnation. P.S. I bought it in December 2011, have used it everyday since, and it still looks and performs like new (it is end of July 2012 now). Highly recommend!

We were terribly disappointed with this roller. I ordered two - one for my husband and one for myself. First of all, the surface was not smooth as shown on the Amazon site but felt more like a compressed roll of bubble wrap. Secondly, we are not heavy people but when each of us put our weight in the center, the ends lifted off the floor about two inches and there was an immediate significant depression in the middle. And last but not least, when we returned the rolls we learned that the Amazon vendor would not pay for the shipping back to him, though I must say an Amazon Customer Service Rep was nice enough to give me a small credit on the shipping. Word of caution - not every vendor associated with Amazon will issue a Return Authorization label so you don't have to incur shipping charges when returning an item - be sure you inquire about that at time of ordering.

I love my roller and use it every day, but after a couple of months the diameter got thinner in the middle portion (from bearing most of the weight) and soon it became difficult to roll because the shape was distorted. Maybe the foam is too soft for 200 pounders.. But I still use it daily and it's like getting a back massage. It took away aches and pains that I've had for 20 years! I'll buy another one and just replace it after 3 months. It's worth it to me.

Product is just as advertised. Came quickly and just as expected.

This is a normal foam roller cut in half. That isn't a problem in itself as it works as intended for stretching my calfs. But the manufacturer didn't seal the edge that was cut. So now every time I use it small Styrofoam snowflakes mess up the floor. I ended up using vinyl to cover it so I don't have to vacuum after each use.
