Awesome gadget saved Scout uniform!
I bought this not feeling super confident that it would help with my husband's Scout uniform shirt. The collar has been piling for the past year or so. It's been looking pretty ragged. The rest of the shirt was in great condition considering it's working a few times a week, worn at campouts, fundraisers etc etc. My husband sweats A LOT so that just added more fuel to the piling. I saw someone online talking about a fabric shaver to help with piling lularoe leggings so I wondered if it would help with the shirt. I figured I've spent $8 on worse so why not give it a whirl?I was so shocked and impressed with how well this nifty little gadget worked. Tossed in some batteries and removed the little plastic guard (thanks to another reviewer for that, because who reads instructions anymore?) and set out to my task. I started out slowly on a part of the collar that wouldn't be too easily visible in case it damaged it. That sucker cleaned up almost all of the piling within seconds. I wasn't expecting a miracle and to have the collar look brand new, but this saved me from nothing having to purchase another $60 shirt but it saved me from having to remove and resew those wonderful patches onto another shirt. My kids then decided that their pull overs and other various garments needed a shaving too, so far it's holding up very well to the beating it's received.

Works well, but
For some reason I thought this model came with replacement blades, and it doesn't; just like when shaving yourself, the blade needs to be sharp to work. I'm wondering how long it'll be before I have to replace the whole thing.I used to have a small shaver from this manufacturer and really liked it, but it got lost on a move! The larger surface of this one means less time spent removing pills from clothes. You can make any clothes with pilling look tons better by using a shaver like this--even while sitting on the couch and watching TV! (Turning clothes inside out before washing is must to help reduce pilling. And yes, it's okay to take this shaver to dress socks, hoodies, you name it!)

Works well and super easy to use
I don't usually leave product reviews, but I felt pretty awed about this one. One of my cat's sweaters got mixed in with some towels and blankets and came out looking trashed. I bought this fabric shaver right after I saw the sweater.I received it today and right away wanted to use it. The batteries were easy to put in and the positive/negative symbols are on the handle. Some reviews complained about that.Using the fabric shaver was super simple. I had to empty the trap four times working on this sweater!! It really got every little lint ball there was. The after picture is from using the shaver for about 15 minutes and then one round of a lint roller to gather the trapped fur. Oh boi. This sweater looks new again! For the money, it's absolutely worth trying out. I'm definitely keeping mine.

Remove pills on fabrics
Not very effective for couch fabrics or in sweaters.
