Are these genuine NGK plugs

Yes they are. Put them in a 2012 Cadillac. Car is still running just fine.

Gap was .041, spark plug off my 2011 Mustang V6 were 0.050, why the difference?

Most all plugs come new at around .038. they have to be gapped according to specs by the engine manufacturer. Worn plugs will have a wider gap due to deteriorated metal and heat.
