Avid Pro Tools Software with Annual Upgrade and Support Plan Teacher/Student

This is a dynamite audio editing program. It was a snap to download once it was confirmed I was a student. it is bar far the best audio editing software out there. It makes Adobe Audition look like a joke. i will always use Pro Tools for editing my audio. I will even consider other Avid Products just because of my experience with this one.

I've been ripped off and want my 300$ back. THis program is confusing and has done nothing but slowed me down. What a joke. They make it extremely difficult to even be involved with this program and you have to be a student enrolled with a college email to even use this. I have all of these things and still can't even use this product. It's a rip off and a scam don't but it.

Good for recording and mixing, but doesn't come with enough features or plug-ins to warrant the hefty price, but those it has are good. That said, I'm glad I got this with a student discount. I wouldn't use this for song composition or MIDI work- it simply doesn't come with enough software instruments. This is industry standard, which unfortunately means Avid has been sitting on their laurels because everyone is pretty much forced to use this.

While this software is somewhat hard to use, I had an issue with my product and registration. Avid quickly understood the issue and worked to get me up and running.

Avid is evil! It was not clear with the Amazon listing that this was an academic version of Pro Tools and also a subscription renewal. First I had to answer a slew of questions establishing that I am a teacher (which I am) which caught me off guard then I realize that the initial purchase for this program is $299.00 and $99.00 was the subscription fee for the 2nd year. But why wasn't it made more clear on the Amazon listing. What a cheap way to collect a few bucks without providing and services. I ended up purchasing Apple's Logic Pro X. I understand that Avid has been reducing it's staff having fired whole departments that were programing Pro Tools. Avid is an evil company that will soon perish from this earth.

Been a PT user since version 8, and I simply accepted the bulkiness/clunkiness/bugginess for 5 years. After using PT12 for several months, I cannot take it anymore. If my session is big, I have to be careful about stopping/playing back too quickly lest PT blows out my monitors (and ears) with white noise. Once, in a large sound design session, I attempted to create a looping sound, and PT failed to do this because every time I tried to loop the selected track, IT ADDED EXTRA AUDIO AT THE END OF THE TRACK.This boggled my mind for hours.Apparently, PT has an algorithm that rounds off audio information, instead of snapping it exactly to the place you specify with the cursor. Incredible. I had to create a whole new session just to complete the project. HOURS WASTED. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I actually LOVE the way PT edits. The workflow is great. If Avid would just give a damn about their customers, they would have a product worthy of the "Industry Standard" stamp they love to tout so much. I jumped ship to Reaper, and will not be looking back. Best of luck with your dysfunctional product strategy, Avid!!!!!

Love Protools, always has been a great program for producing/mixing , completely satisfied with 12.
