Watercolor: Watercolor 1: Learn the basics of watercolor painting (How to Draw & Paint)

it takes all kinds of input to learn watercolors
I took up painting 2 years ago. Father was a professional and I missed the smell of paint and sizing and paper, all of it.....however there are no extension courses nearby, no teachers nearby and in short nothing nearby....except my beloved Amazon....so I started ordering books...and reading and practicing and LEARNING....If you are in the same situation I recommend you begin with the books that have tracings to help you get started.....and following the instructions is crucial until you learn how paint works and how thick or thin you need your mixes...This book is an excellent 2nd stage book...no tracings but chock full of instructions, helps and hints. There are enough books such as this at Amazon to give you a good base line of learning, but if you dont work at it every day what's the use? I have so enjoyed this book and indeed all my painting books from Amazon and encourage you, and root for you to feel satisfied and of course enjoy the process!!!PS Thank you to Amazon for carrying so many wonderful educational materials for those of us who are home-bound or too far away from any classes!!!!

That product advertised is what proct actually is.
I'm learning how to draw and paint art with many mediums and subjects. Product advertised delivered what it advertised.

Cursory and strangely racist
While this book highlights the outcomes of different techniques there are no how to photos or step by step instructions for things like wet into wet, masking, etc. There is also a section on mixing light skin tones but not dark -- I can't assign this for classroom use because of this bias.

Child Porn
There’s a picture of a very young girl in a hypersexualized position. Gross. The beak on the hawk is a travesty. No go.

A Great Sunflower Reference Book
I wanted a book especially for sunflowers and this one fill my goals. I plan to paint using this book as a reference guide, particularly for the shapes and the color mixing guide.

Require more time to give a considered opinion
Having only just entered the realm of watercolour painting from years of photography, I am just equiping myself with the bits and pieces necessary. I have been testing out my drawing skills in parallel with the collection of paint brushes, paint stretching boards etc. and am about to put brush to paper ...damp (this was news to me)_.I have dipped into the DVD along with the download of Watercolour Secrets which I found very helpful in getting started. As I have more practice, I am sure that the purchase of the full set of DVD's will be an essential feature in coming to grips with the art of watercolour painting.Congratulations on producing a very helpful and detailed set of instructions

water colour beginner
I am obviously not an expert, but this book helped me get a good idea of what I needed to do to make a successful start in learning the art of watercolour painting. It is very well illustrated and the notes are simple to understand and explain what to do
