can i use these on its side?

Yes you can, if you want to consider using stands you can find them at amazon. If you place them on there sides be sure to put something under them like a bath towel etc to avoid scratching of the cabinets.

It shows dimentions being 22 x 20 x 17 inches but after looking it up on other sites it shows dimentions being 8"w x 15-3/4"h x 11-7/8"d
