Great little tool for the price...
This is a great little tool that has helped me to get my house wiring completed. It's not the most intricate but for the price it is a great little tool.

Simple is good but maybe too simple
I like a good fixed function simple tool that doesn't overcomplicate things. This tool is pretty good, but it basically just gives you pass/fail , it doesn't tell you anything about what is wrong. Perhaps the worst example of this is if you mix T568A and T568B it just tells you "miswire" , the same generic failure as all other miswirings. Some other ethernet testers will tell you cross over or even tell you exactly which wires are not correct.

Easy to use, worth the purchase
I purchased this because I have a buried cable from the shed to the house for a camera that stopped working. Using this tester, I could see that my buried cable was no longer good. Using this tester, I didn't have to take other cameras down and move them around to see which ones worked and which ones didn't. Saves time and guesswork.

Easy to use and has been very useful
Great for determining house wired ethernet that you don't know where they lead. Will tell you 'miswire' when one end is 'T568B' and the other is 'T568A', which for some reason my house was wired like that.

Simple lightweight tester.
As a advanced DIY'er building a security camera network, this tool has allowed me to check all my Cat 6 runs and fly leads. The removable remote is nice and small and lightweight. I'm on the fence with the LED; I have a short and all I know it's a short on the cable but I don't know what wire is the issue unlike other tools that do show the status of each of the 8 wires. But the result is the same - I have to chase a 200 foot wire for a problem. Not a cheap tool but a good size for your toolbox and simple to use. I always say you get what you pay for and I'm happy with this gadget.
