It's not durable, difficult to configure and use.
This is my first and dissapointing experience with a manual grinder, I bought it at the amazon usa site, my sister brought to me to Mexico and i was happy to have a "durable steel grinder" but when I started to use it i noticed my beans where to "hard" to grind in it which It's pretty normal at te beggining, but after that I tryed to change from fine to coarse grind and It was impossible to have the grind coarse even I followed the user manual and searched a lot video tutorials in you tube, my grinds never change if it was up or down the screws. After a few attemps the burr broke :( it's not fear! I would like the company get in touch with me in order to have a refund or replace my product, I'm not satisfied since I don't have a month with the grinder!

Nice ideas, flawed execution. Disappointment.
Cons:- It has two stabilizer, one one the shaft, and one on the bottom of burr; neither one works, at all.The burr still wobbles when you grind, as a result you get very inconsistent grounds.- What makes it worse, the stabilizer on the bottom limits the size of the coffee grounds. You can't never make it coarse.Even at its most coarse setting, the ground is very small with lots of micro grounds. You CAN'T use this for french press.- the jar has no pad or anything on its bottom, so when you use the grinder on hard table top it makes so much noise, slips all over the table, and worst of all, leaves dents on the table. You either have to put some towel under it, or have to hold it on air.- The way the handle attached to the shaft is flawed. The handle is basically a nut and shaft is a screw; and it gets tighter as you grind the beans. It gets so tighter after couple usage, and the shaft spin with it when you try to unscrew it! I had to use a plier to detach handle.- Also, you can't disassemble burrs. If you want to clean it thoroughly you have to use phillips screw driver to do so.Pros:- It looks cool on your cupboard.I had high hope in this grinder because it was only hand grinder that had some form of stabilizer. I could tell the maker tried to make better coffee grinder than the competitors. Unfortunately it was poorly executed, and I was very disappointed by it. All in all, it looks better and it grinds the beans just as well as competitor's product; however the horrible new flaws this one introduce are extreme turn off. If you're looking for manual coffee grinder, I do not recommend you to buy this one.Added pictures of burr and end result. It was set at its coarsest setting, yet there are so much micro grounds.

Doesn't grind coarsely, is not perfectly designed, but I might use it forever
Missing from the amazon description:- It's not tiny: 6 1/4" X 3 3/4" - nice for a counter top or to pack to the In-Laws, but not for backpacking. About the same size as the Hario Skerton I think.Major faults:- It grinds only fine to powder: it can't grand coffee coarsely enough for french press, because a metal part prevents the center burr from lowering sufficiently.- You can't see how much coffee you've ground unless you unscrew the bottom part from the grinder. That's a pain.Minor Faults:- On the grinding arm, the black handle you grasp will eventually come unscrewed. Then you have to figure out how to disassemble the arm so that you can re-attach it.- The bottom part is just round, which is not perfectly comfortable to grasp in one's hand.- The hopper closure on top tends to open during grinding if you don't hold the grinder in the right orientation--which is that your grinding movement is in the same direction as to close the hopper lid. Might open during travel, too.Pluses:- It doesn't have any glass parts, so it will probably never break if you drop it or pack it carelessly.- The hopper is big.- Since the grind adjustment is done using a screw mechanism, the grind can be adjusted to infinite precision and can grind coffee into powder. (Although that's not unique among manual grinders.)Overall, I want a more ergonomic grinder that can do a very coarse grind, and want to see how much coffee I've ground. But I don't regret having bought this one--knowing that I can get eventually get something better.

There were no reviews on it but it looked nice. Its bigger than I thought it would be
I did a lot of research regarding grinder options and just unpacked this. There were no reviews on it but it looked nice so I took a chance. Its bigger than I thought it would be, but it fits nicely in my hands...which I like. There were no instructions in the box, but I found their website apologizing for this. http://www.boldbean.us/products.html. The supplier was very nice as I talked to him about the difficulties of getting the plastic top off to allow for cleaning. The top hopper is all metal with a ceramic burr inside. The lid is a solid hard plastic with a metal slide for the opening. It was challenging to take the top off, but if you open the metal leaver and push the metal button toward the open position really hard, It will eventually open the first time. It loosens up slightly after that. It is a quality product and is a very tight fit. The bottom cup looks like it will hold 6-8 oz.....it is metal outside and has a plastic liner on the inside. This is made in China which I don’t like which is why I am giving it 4 stars. It would be nice if this American distributor could get these produced in the US. I will update and give more information after I assess how it grinds.

Love the Bold Bean grinder!!!!
Purchased this to use in my k-cup cartridge for the Keurig to save money and didn't realize what a great cup of coffee I would get from using whole beans! The grinder was easy to use and looks great on the counter. Love it!

Do not buy it; its useless!
Looks are deceiving; this is a reallybad product; poorly designed. The handle broke off after a couple of weeks use. Very hard to disassemble in order to wash the parts!
