Wow!!! Just....WOW
OK, Im going to be honest here. I did NOT expect this uke and all the accessories it came with to be this awesome. I am literally blown away. I figured I would give sawtooth ukes a try (never even heard of sawtooth uke brand), and if I didn't like it I still scored a tuner, case and stand. For 55 bucks, this is a steal. I did buy the tenor (these are what I most commonly play- love the sound tenors produce and fits me perfect)Ill share a little history about myself- I was born and raised on the big island and most of my family are musicians. I started playing the uke in 3rd grade, I enjoy singing and I have danced hula for 25+ years. So, I have a great ear for tune. This uke is awesome. I was iffy that for such a cheap price, I would be getting a cheap product. That is not the case. Its an all around beautiful mahagony wood, Aquila strings (top notch kind of stuff) and the fingerboard feels really nice. My fingers are use to playing for long periods of time but the prep on these strings can make me go all day. Easy to play for even the newbies. This uke did come out of tune, but that is normal with new ukes, unless you buy from a brick and mortar store and they tune it for you. Besides, it comes with a tuner. So again, easy fix. For me, this uke held its tune wonderfully after its first tune up. One thing I was worried about was the play and sound once I got it tuned. But all that went away after my first strum. Its does not rattle or buzz like junk ukes, and the sound is sharp, bright, warm and loud. Love it. My mom and I jam all the time, and recently I mishandled my main uke and cracked it. So I needed something else. And this seriously changes the game. I think she is going to want to trade her koa uke for this one (but she can't have it, Lol). The stand it came with is great, hold the uke nicely, the tuner works fine (its smaller than I expected, but it does the job), the case was more than I thought. Its got a zipper pocket in the front to hold the stand, an extra pocket for whatever else (picks, strings, tuner, ect...) and the main compartment fits my uke nicely. The case has a carry handle on the side AND arm straps (backpack style) in the back. This is a soft case made with durable material. It is not too tight and not to loose, so my uke won't be sliding around getting itself out of tune... or worst. The chart it comes with is perfect for beginners wanting to learn the basic uke chords. Its got a few beginners songs inside (4-5 easy simple songs I think). All in all, I am NOT one bit disappointed. I LOVE this uke. I highly recommend for even the seasoned player. This is the real deal folks. No lie :)

Not all sub $50 ukuleles are equal!!!
Not all beginner ukuleles are the same! These are beautifully made and designed for serious fun. I had to return two sets of "beginner ukulele kits" because they were so poorly made. I bought one for each of my sons because they are always interested in playing my own Washburn Oscar Schmidt Concert Uke and I figured it was time to have their own. The beginner kits were priced the same as these but were basically glorified cardboard with rubber band like strings on them. Yes they came with an instructional dvd and a book, but one snapped in half while attempting to tune it. I think many of those beginner kits are not meant for real playing (in which case, make a guitar out of a shoebox and paper towel cardboard roll...) These Sawtooths are meant for real playing. They come with quality strings and are actually crafted. They don't include a dvd or book, but they do have a chord chart which is really all you need to get started. Most importantly, they sound good and are well made, equal to my ukulele which was $50 more.If you want to inspire or encourage a budding musician's interest in playing the uke/guitar these are the way to go. Don't buy crappy quality products, it just makes people/kids especially lose interest. I really am happy with how well made these are, so much so, that I felt I had to write a review (my first)! I am even now considering getting a Sawtooth Tele for my own use because if they can match the quality of their ukulele's than it would be an incredible deal.So there. That's all I have to say. Don't waste your time (and shipping expenses) with the other brands -for the price, it would be hard to beat this product.

Five Stars
I received my Sawtooth Mahogany Pineapple Ukulele in a quick and timely manner. I was impressed with the triple boxing and the attention paid to the securing of my new baby. She's a real beauty! She came in perfect condition. Not a flaw on her. She was even mostly in tune. Just a little tweak here and there, was all it took to get her prepared for playing. I bought this ukulele for my own pleasure. I've always wanted to learn to play one, now, here's my chance. I'm sure if I treat her with care, she'll give me many years of enjoyment. I would recommend this ukulele to anyone who is wanting to learn how to play, or know how to play already. The carrying case is of great quality. Not like a this pillowcase type bag. The ukulele stand is a wonderful addition to showcase my baby. And the tuner that came with her is #1. I am pleased with the whole kit. I may not buy this particular ukulele again, but when I become more proficient at playing it, I plan to buy a concert ukulele of the same brand.

Had to return
I am sorry to say this, but I had to return this ukulele because of buzzing strings on the first fret. Strings one and two were the worst when I chord. Feel free to read the rest of the review, but it no longer is valid.I recently received my Sawtooth baritone ukulele and have enjoyed playing it immensely. It is well crafted and has a beautiful tone to it. It came equipped with Aquila strings, which, after several days, are beginning to stay in tune. This, of course, is very normal. At first, you will need to tune often to get them stretched properly, especially strings 1 and 2. My one and only complaint is with the packaging. They need to invest in a sturdier cardboard or place the case in a separate box. The box mine came in was torn, which caused some superficial marring to the face of the body. The instrument gets 5 stars. Packaging 1 star.

Great purchase
I really like this instrument. I'm not an expert, by any means, but it's fun and it sounds great. It also came with a stand and tuner, both of which are very helpful. My only complaint is that the round design of the body makes the ukulele slip more than the ukuleles shaped like guitars do. It's a little harder to hold onto when you're sitting down.

Great sound need better quality control
Got the concert size, was surprised by the sound, good warm tone's and the built-in tuner works very well. The Aquila strings that came with it really made the sound standout. But I found the C string does not have the same bright tone as the other strings. Two screws, one on the G and one on the C string tuner were striped, one actually fell out on its own, fixed it with some glue and a toothpick. There was a buzzing sound coming from the tuner when strumming, took the tuner out and found the crystal for the circuit was the source, glued down the crystal fixed that problem. As other reviewers has mentioned the edges are pretty sharp. I just ran the back of my finger nail on these edges to round them off. It is not solid wood the front, back and side are all laminate. But it is still a descent sounding ukulele for the price.
