Planning For Long-Term Care For Dummies (For Dummies Series)

I have done a lot of research on the topic of caring for the aging, but was pleasantly surprised to find lots of useful information in this book that I didn't know. I really like the "For Dummies" series because it helps you get through complex information without getting overwhelmed. This book is extremely useful whether you are planning for yourself, or aging friends or relatives. If you know a lot about some topics but not others, it's easy to just read about what you need to learn.

I have absolutely no knowledge on this subject. What I have read here was informative and did answer some of the questions I had and let me know there were other questions I needed to ask. I checked on a few of the article's validity with my lawyer and he agreed with them, which is a recommendation of its own. This book let me know what I need to be aware of and what to have in place for the future. This was purchased with a couple of other books on the same subject and I recommend all of them.

The Nolo publication on the topic is current. This is 10+ years old.

An invaluable book for planning for long term care, whether you need it now or are planning for it later. Includes many suggestions you may not have thought of, such as Veterans Administration benefits, and the resources of the state Area Agencies on Aging. Points out important facts such as Medicare does not pay for long term care.

I've read this several times along with another book on Long Term Care so I can really understand what people go through when dealing with their long term care needs. If you want to really understand the Long Term Care business you really should learn what the elderly as well as disabled go through when first dealing with this experience.

This is a good book to have on hand to refer to when facing this time in one's life. Easy to understand and gives good suggestions and cautions one on things to avoid.

It really gave me a general overview of LTSS, but if you want more details then you need something else... maybe a case management text book.

Ridiculously priced for an informative but out-of-date book. Certain explanations about unchanging topics can be useful. Be careful of getting a used book for unexplained overpricing. I insisted on a substantial refund.
