I think the matte screen protector is better than glossy ones.
I'm pleased with the results, although I messed up a bit with the first one I tried applying and had to redo it. It's hard to avoid static in the dryness of winter, which caused some tiny dust particles to end up on the screen protector the first time around. I had tried applying it as recommended, with peeling the cover off under the shield an inch or two at a time, but during that painstaking procedure some dust managed to get on it, which I didn't realize until I was trying to remove the bubbles and a couple small ones stubbornly persisted. On the next attempt, I decided to take the entire protective cover off and carefully put on the screen protector. This involved less movement and I had no trouble getting aligned to my satisfaction. I must admit I do not use the camera on the Kindle and the holes were a little off, but that's not a bother for me. The good news is the matte screen protector doesn't affect seeing things, whether reading a book or watching a video. There is a very slight amount of graininess of the protector because of the matte surface, which you might notice when viewing something with a lot of white in it, but I don't notice it all when I'm using the Internet or watching a video. I prefer to read on the Kindle with the sepia color, and I don't notice any graininess. I had another matte screen protector in the past, which after doing a lot of swiping could get a little irritating to my finger. While I can feel a slight grainy texture, it hasn't caused a similiar problem. I've also used glossy screen protectors and found they were hard to keep clean as the slightest touch leaves a fingerprint. So far with this matte one, it seems to show no fingerprints and smudges, or at least very few, which do not interfere at all with viewing and wipe away very easly with a few swipes of a micro cloth, no smuding at all with it. So I'm pleased overall.

Does the job. Too many ratings for this item.
Pros:1. Smooth finish2. It does what it suppose to do - reduce glare3. Comes with stickers to remove lint/dust4. Packed nicely and with a little brochure asking to contact them before the retailer if you have any problemsCons:1. Smells of chemicals - at least for couple of days after you are installing it2.The film has only one cover (#1) not 2 like most screen protectors do.After you are applying it on the screen you have to make sure that you don't leave any marks on the screen protector while trying to get rid of air bubbles3. Disastrous wit with air bubbles. I have used amFilm products on my iPad and they are the best by far at this chapter.4. The protective film is very thin this making it hard to install and is increasing the quantity of air bubbles. Also being very thin covers the lint on the screen without leaving empty space around it.This is good and bad at the same time. Good because you don't necessary have to re-apply the screen protector if you can live with the lint on your screen. Bad because this it should not happen on the first place. So you will actually see lint on your display if you look closely.I have informed the Tech Armor customer support about these flaws.Their solution explained on short terms ?Thank you for your information. If you have any problems with our product we can replace it for you :)So?..... Support means only replacement ? Blink Blink? How about an answer that we know about it and we are working on it ?Would I recommend this to a friend ? YesWould I recommend this to my best friend ? No :)

Nice cover for the money but anti glare reduces screen quality some.
I wanted an anti-spyware cover to make it easier to read my Kindle outdoors. We camp a lot, so this was important to me. The covers were easy to apply, although I did get a few bubbles at the corners and where I had not noticed a couple specks of dust remaining when I cleaned the screen, but they were small and near the edges where they are not that noticeable. Next time I will be more careful, and now that I have gotten the hang of it, I think it will go better. The reason I did not rate these higher is that the anti-glare with these screen covers reduces the screen quality more than the previous screen cover I had for my previous Kindle. That was a more expensive reusable cover, and I didn't notice much loss is screen quality with it at all. These covers adhere to the entire screen rather than just around the edges like the reusable cover did, and I suspect that is what makes the difference. If you are looking for a cheaper products, these are a good value for the money, but if you want better screen quality, the more expensive reusable covers may be a better way to go.

Erased My Skepticism.
I must admit that I was extremely skeptical of this product because I'd read a couple of bad reviews. When it arrived, I went about the task of installing it pretty quickly. My skepticism really reached a crescendo when I tried twice to get it into place without bubbles. No matter how hard I tried and where I did it, I could not install it without dealing with the little rascals. I finally gave up after achieving a somewhat passable install but I thought the three air bubbles that remained were just going to be an awful nuisance while I was trying to read. I placed my Fire on a shelf and decided I'd go back to it later. Then when I did go to use it, I found that only a couple of very minor bubbles remained. What can I say about the actual performance? It works, and it works very well. No, it's not going to allow you to use the Fire in bright sunlight, but it does cut down a great deal of distracting glare. It has held up well and looks great too. This is a great product and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
