Perfect
Perfect fit, easy install, and bright. Just wish it came with better instructions, but it isn't too difficult to figure out. Worth it.

Fit perfect - Easy to install
I bought this for my 2008 Ford Escape. Good quality, fits perfect, easy to install. I used the original sprayer like the instructions said but it does come with one but it fit sort of loose. Overall I would say it's a great product.

This fixed the roof leaking (made seatbelt wet). And it looks great.
It was obviously leaking into the tailgate (dirt trails under light). The description says the seal is high quality. That could be debated, but the long and slender shape of the light does not have enough rigidity to seal well anyway, so I might not try to knock stars of my review lower since it may not be the light mfg'rs fault. Since the light works so well, I have decided to use RTV to seal it better to the mounting surface. I removed the old gasket, and in the process have made the light not look quite so good as it did. But the car is old and doesn't look super anymore.I previously thought that it was somehow leaking into the track around the roof (inside), and then wetting the seatbelt. I had googled this and may have been reading info from another model. I cannot see how this light leaking could get into the roof unless water went through the wire boots, which is unlikely. I attempted to seal this light up as described above and the car still leaks so I do not believe my earlier belief was correct. The leak might be caused by the roof channel or the racks. This light works well and is better than OEM. Get it. But I recommend sealing it with sealer.

Exactly as described, better than stock!
I got this product to replace my stock high mount stop light on my 2008 Mazda Tribute. This fits all Ford Escape-like vehicles made from 2008-2012. My old one had essentially melted from the heat of the incandescent bulbs and wouldn't hold them in after hitting a few potholes. The LEDs are bright enough to be seen but not blinding to the other drivers. To install, remove the old light fixture by the two screws and gently slide it out not to damage the electrical connectors or the fluid cable. Use a small flathead to pry the electrical plug out, being gentile not to break it. Then, remove the hose by pulling and twisting it from the spray nipple. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to push the nipple through the front. Save it!To install the new one, reverse the disassembly. I recommend installing the electrical first and allowing it to dangle in the rear window while pressing on the brake pedal to ensure it is working. Then continue install.

It works
It works. It holds up. It’s quite bright. The specs are right to install it without issue. That’s all that really matters. All in all, pleased with this purchase.

Looks a lot better than OEM.
About half of the bulbs in my OEM CHMSL were burnt out, and last time I changed them it was getting to the point where the plastic housing was disintegrating from age, so I figured it was time to change it out entirely. I never loved the look of the OEM light with all that red plastic surrounding the actual light, so I went with the "Smoked" color. The light isn't quite as bright as the incandescent OEM lamps, but with the smoked housing, it won't be constantly glowing red in the sunlight, so it may still wind up being more noticeable, and it looks quite nice on my "Dark Stone Metallic" (aka: Dark Grey) Eddie Bauer Edition Explorer. The area surrounding the actual light is chromed under the smoked lens, but it still looks far better than stock. The gasket that came with mine has adhesive on one side, as it should. Some reviews are saying they got double-sided tape.It did come with a washer nozzle, but as you can see in the closeup, it's missing the actual spray nozzle insert that the OEM has, though it does come with instructions suggesting reusing your OEM nozzle.I didn't see mention of it elsewhere, but this is a steady-burning light; it does not have an initial flash like some LED CHMSLs do.

High Quality. Comes in Black for those that want a cool look
My ford explorer had a red version that broke. I decided to get the black version since my car is Silver with black trim. Looks great on the car versus the other model. Also, for those not aware of this issue, on some cars if the third light breaks, the car will not shift into gear due to a brake sensor switch that checks the brake lights. After I replace it, it shifts very nice.More than just a brake light. It impacts other systems. Plus you do not want to get pulled over for a fix it ticket.Price is great for a car over 20 years old.
